My expectations at the start of the show was that it stay consistent at Game of Thrones Seasons 5-6 quality. The source material wasn’t as easily adaptable or based off of something as engaging as the War of the Roses, so my expectations were a bit lower than they were for GOT.
It's been a slow burn, especially with Daemon (which is a shame since it feels like Matt Smith's abilities and potential are being squandered), but I've not been disappointed or bored with Season 2 in the least. Yet. [Reply]
How Addam got Seasmoke. They couldn't have went about that a better way? Addam is ambitious and clearly wants to be more than what he is, but they couldn't play into that with the way he gets his dragon. It's like they try to do things that will turn into memes or something and had to do this stupid chase scene.

I think you kind of missed the point here. Sea Smoke has been anxious and clearly misses Laenor. I'd image a dragon rider abandoning his dragon would have a different affect than an actual death. It's not a coincidence that he went after somebody that is also a son of Corlys and obviously resembles Laenor
I don’t really mind but I’ll say I can see where dlp is coming from.
Spoiler!
They made a point to show Rhaenys figured out that Corlys had bastards running around out there. They also made a point to show that Adam (or is this one Alyn?) desired status.
I felt like it would have made a little more sense for Rhaenys to mention to Rhaenyra the fact that Adam and Alyn existed and were nearby.
Narratively it could have been really cool. They could have brought Alyn to Sea Smoke, it’s tense but Sea Smoke accepts him as his rider. Thunderous applause, backslaps abound. They bring in the Darklyn dude immediately afterward, they’re feeling confident, and BAM. Dude gets baked extra crispy. Back to square one.
Again, I don’t really mind it either way but I think I’d have done it that way instead. [Reply]

likely dragons sense humans in a different way. For all we know this is just a close genetic match and he said fucking get over here let’s fuck shit up.
That’s what I gathered from it. And I can see why people might be a bit annoyed.
If it’s a genetic thing, why did Sea Smoke not seek out Corlys himself? His DNA is what Laenor and Alyn share in the first place.
Why not Beala or whatever the other Velaryon/Targaryen mixed girl’s name is?
I understand that the situation with Sea Smoke being abandoned is different than any other so I’m not upset about this either way. Personally, I would have done things a bit differently.

Didn't GRRM just recently make it a point to say that dragons shouldn't really leave dragonstone? Obviously they'll be in King's Lading too, but it's not their natural home. I can't remember exactly what he said, but what he said makes sense of why he wouldn't seek out Laenor, and again, he's clearly the closest character to him. Corlys is old as fuck and hasn't ever appeared to have any interest in being a dragon rider. Rhaena is about to get her own dragon, so I just don't see the problem in that regard. Maybe being young with his ambition did have something to do with it? Isn't the simple answer that him riding Sea Smoke is book accurate?

Hmm, idk. Maybe.
But this latest episode showed Sheepstealer is in the Vale so obviously dragons will move around when necessary.
