This was unambiguously a fantastic success for Bellator. This particular card might not make a lot of money, because a lot of MMA fans went "lol fuck that" and refused to pay for it, but there's gonna be a whole lot of "holy shit you missed an awesome show" word of mouth, and maybe next time they'll give it a chance.
They just need to pace themselves and realize they aren't at "we can sell a PPV every damn month" like the UFC, wait a few months for the fights to align, put together another interesting card, and sell it again, see what happens. [Reply]
Hendricks is thoroughly screwed. Unless he absolutely needs the money, he should retire. He's competitive at Welterweight, but there's no way the UFC will let him try to cut to 170 [Reply]

Lee was probably about to win, but it definitely was not for sure.
I'm not complaining about the stoppage. I know he didn't tap but he stopped fighting the hands and it appeared as if he was out or going out. MY was trying to make sure he was safe. If he didn't want the fight stopped he shouldn't have relaxed his arms. [Reply]

That was a terrible stoppage, you have to give the fighter an opportunity to fight out of that. [Reply]

Yeah, thats the thing. If John McCarthy, Herb Dean, or Marc Goddard was the ref, I woulda been like "ok, you blew this one, but you are a good ref, everyone can have a bad night once in a while".
Mario has been skating on thinner and thinner ice every month. He's reaching the point where he should probably not be reffing anything on a main UFC card anymore.
The funny thing is that Mario had a reputation for being a bloodthirsty ref, letting fights go way too long until a fighter is fully concussed, pouring blood, and half-dead before he finally stopped it, so its shocking to see an early stop from him now. [Reply]
Megan Anderson is out, only explanation so far is "intense personal reasons that are out of her control".
Cyborg will fight the invicta Bantamweight champ. I'm obviously skeptical that this will be a competitive fight, but hey, she went 10-0 (1) in her last 11 fights, so who knows.

Damn, that's a big blow to what would've been an amazing card. It's still buy worthy but I love Cerrone's style and hate to see him miss a fight. [Reply]
The CSAC will not allow Renan Barao to fight at bantamweight at UFC 214. They have informed the UFC that they'll approve the fight at either 140 or 145.
