I think Tater's performance last night was fool's gold. He is capable of being the guy that showed up last night - but he is incapable of being that guy long term.
As his confidence grows, he will revert back to holding the ball too long and taking stupid ass sacks while trying to play hero/moon ball all day.
I am guessing Pittsburgh fan will see the 3 and out phase start within the next couple weeks and will be calling for Fields. [Reply]

And how was Tebow rewarded for it? Tebow was essentially run out of the NFL.....with the chief culprit involved being none other than John Elway.
The chief culprit… as if Tim was screwed over. Manning became available.
And Denver may not have drafted Elway, but he never played a snap for any other team. They used the draft to get him, but split that hair however you like. [Reply]

That’s the thing… never in two seasons was I confident in Russ. I never had a sense of calm with him at QB. [Reply]

None of what you are saying about Manning explains why Tebow was shipped out unceremoniously. Do you not think that Tebow could have been kept around as Manning's backup?
Did you not ever consider that if Tebow were allowed to stay, then there'd have been no need for the Donks to spend a 2nd round pick on Osweiler in the 2012 draft within weeks after Tebow was shipped out?
As for Elway, that only proves what I'm saying about the Donks lack of success drafting QB's & if history is any precedent, then it's quite likely that Bo Nix will wash out very shortly & most likely be delivering pizza to your doorstep. [Reply]

I get this angle, but so far in Russ's only start with the Steelers they dropped 37 on the Jets. Russ is only 35. There's a non-zero chance that his struggles on the Broncos had more to do with coaching. If that's the case then you're screwed in multiple ways. [Reply]

Tebow was not an answer at QB, not even as a backup. [Reply]

If you have hope on Russ, that’s great. He had good stats last year. Russ is not a leader and I never had trust in him under center. [Reply]

Is that right? Last time anyone checked, the Donks were 1-4 when Tebow took over and the Donks went 7-4 the rest of the way in 2011 and made the playoffs. Are you really going to try & con yourself into thinking that isn't worthy of backup QB consideration after Manning signed onboard?
You have to ask yourself now if Nix will ever really be any better than Tebow.
