That was the Browns' first step towards heading right back down the drain into NFL obscurity for the next twenty-plus years. Couldn't have happened to a more deserving franchise.
And what's really funny is that CAR cut both Baker and Darnold, both of whom are currently 2-0, lol. [Reply]
You guys come here, pounding your chests, demanding that we recognize Nix, (and Dom even complains how mean we are) :-), then you disappear and leave Mania all alone to pay for your dumbassery. What gives? :-)
The more things change, the more they stay the same. :-)

Our rivals are the Bills, Bengals, and crybaby team with the running back playing quarterback.
Playing the Chiefs will be the Donks "Superbowl" twice a year for the foreseeable future. It will be their version of a rivalry. Come to think of it- same for most of the other dozen and half teams [Reply]

Kent Babb very possibly ended the entire organization.
Emerald Ash Borers will 'crown' the root structure of a tree. Essentially eat it away after the larvae hatch and drop into the soil. Two years later after being unable to get nutrients, the tree fully and finally dies.
That's what Kent Babb did.
"Arrowhead Anxiety" was published a year before Pioli was shit-canned, but the damage was unsurvivable.
That article even turned the True Fans against him. The 2012 season that followed was really just Zombie Pioli -- he was dead, his body just hadn't figured it out yet. [Reply]

I'm with you on this, but we're just saying we hate the other teams in our division. Nobody takes the Chargers seriously because they don't have any fans with whom to argue. [Reply]

All good… I don’t have much ‘football talk’ in me. Denver is playing terribly and my fantasy team is 0-2. Kenneth Walker, AJ Brown and Kupp… week 1 Burrow fails me and last week it was Stafford.

Dude, I had a good friend and my partner in starting and running the Huddle suddenly die a week and a half ago. Hard to get too worked up over football at the moment. [Reply]

Condolences on your friend. No condolences on the Broncos.
But seriously, condolences on the death of your friend. [Reply]

Yes, I knew her. Wonderful lady. Sorry for your loss. Just included you in that group as a general observation that none of you guys have been here as much now that the season has started for real. Especially this week.
Though, you have been very active on your site during this same time span. Much easier to talk football in the company of friends, then it is over here. The last thing you want to hear, is folks telling you how much Denver sucks and in particular how much Bo Nix sucks. I get that... Again, condolences on your loss. [Reply]

Have a board to keep going. It's just been a difficult couple weeks. Some family health stuff, too.
As for the Broncos, it's definitely disappointing. But they just have to stay the course, at this point. No matter what he's capable of, he's not as bad as he's been the first two games. And they haven't really helped him with some of the bizarre play calling.
But you look at the big mistakes he's made - not the check-downs, but the game-killing mistakes - and you see that he's doing things that he hasn't really done recently (as in the short experience he's had in the NFL, and most of the last couple years of his college career). Even when he's had a clean pocket, his mechanics are off. He's not going to be able to do the things Mahomes does and get away with it - he doesn't have that kind of arm talent. I hope he's mentally strong enough to recognize it and get his shit together.
I think you just let it ride this year, and see where we are. It's not going to be a fun year to watch. But you made the bed, you have to sleep in it. [Reply]
