Well, they had some good years with Plummer and a solid rushing attack. McDaniels screwed up the one time Denver actually drafted a QB that is still starting today and there's the Tebow thing.
So, they haven't won a SB without a HOFer, but they have had success. [Reply]
Thinking back to Cutler... man, it's hard to realize this will be his 8th year in CHI. Dude is a perfect 67-67 overall, not good. He's just shy of 32,000 passing yards with 204 TDs and 141 INTs.
It would have been interesting to see what he could have done had Shanahan not burned out by that point. That 2006 draft was a good one, with Cutler - Scheffler - Marshall - Dumervil as the top 4 picks. Kuper had a nice short career.
Too bad Shanahan had gone full batshit crazy. [Reply]
As I recall, scaring the piss out of an overhyped quarterback was right where they left off. I wonder if he's been able to grow anything resembling a pair over the offseason. [Reply]

We have all come to accept that Slowmo is a bit..."special"...but you may have just "out-tarded" him with that one. That's not an easy accomplishment...impressive.
You do know Smith scored a 40 on the Wonderlic, right?
Donko fans know they only have 3 more days to talk shit...that's why they are showing up now.
That is a huge number.
It's still six less than the number of years since the Chiefs have been to a Super Bowl. :-) [Reply]
Here's some interesting factoids...there have only been 4 rookies in NFL history with over 3000 yards passing.
2 were the #1 overall pick, 1 was the #3 overall pick...and one was the #3 in second round (#35).
All four became franchise QBs and have been to the probowl...two became the NFL MVP.
That equates to 187.5 yards a game.....only four have topped it.
In 2015, Manning played 10 games...he averaged 224.9. Brock averaged 245.9...
Good luck with that 7th rounder.....no run game and they are screwed. Semenboy would be only the 5th QB in history to average what Denver's QBs did last season...
Alex Smith averaged the 35th most passing yards per game last season with 217.9 yards per game - (he was 19th on attempts and completions). And, he was 20th in TD passes with ... 20. Alex didn't turn the ball over and he manages the game well, that's not a slap to him.
That's exactly what you want the QB of a well rounded team to do. Don't screw it up and just move the chains.
I'd be happy with Trevor, Lynch or the combo to average 200 yards passing and just over a TD a game if the turnovers are low. I've seen pass happy stats crazy production and it didn't bring a title.
It's still about ball control and defense. You don't need a $20M QB to play ball control with that defense. So, we'll see how it plays out. [Reply]

I'm sure he has the stats for 2nd year guys with no starts under their belts ready to go.
There is this one guy who didn't start his rookie year at all, then had 14 starts his second year. Obviously he was a failure because he only had 2843 yards passing while his defense dragged him along. [Reply]
