I just feel like everyone is going to spend all week talking about Mahomes' ankle or Burrow being a Demigod or Chase against this young secondary or Lou Anarumo being a psychopath...and then in the end it's just going to Samaje Perine bludgeoning Bolton and Gay to death.

Except that Ja'Marr Chase was wide open on that last drive after Ramsey fell down, on a call Burrow checked to and intended to throw on. The only problem was, Spain couldn't block Aaron Donald for longer than 1 second flat.

Notre Dame defensive coordinator Al Golden has emerged as a top candidate to be the #Bengals new DC, per me and @MikeGarafolo.
Coach Zac Taylor has been waiting for the National Championship to end before moving forward. Now that it has, he can speak with Golden & work thru it. pic.twitter.com/1eELIXX3Sv

Dalton wasn't better than Burrow - but he's a damn sight closer to Burrow than Burrow is to Mahomes.

He'll have it, he'll continue to excel and if the front office can muster together enough brain cells and give him an average Oline and defense, he'll be in the mix for more SBs. [Reply]
The list of debut-losing QBs of the last 30 years or so is not exactly luminous. Not to mention it's happened while Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and Ben Roethlisberger had their careers. Mahomes has made it difficult the last few years as well.
I'd also argue that none of them, save maybe Matt Ryan were ever considered elite at any time of their career and the vast majority of them are firmly mid.
Chiefs fans especially might want to remember that one of their very own was the first guy to lose his first before going on to win one. [Reply]
