I imagine you do what we did a few years ago and use Justin Watson as insurance. Elevating remigio made no sense with skyy on the roster but it makes way less sense with a full wr depth chart. By adding dhop the skyy Moore “role” is no longer relevant. We’ve now got plenty of catch and run with Hopkins and juju. I tend to think elevating Ross has to do with insurance or load management - you can train him to do the same things as dhop and maybe dhop can un**** some of Ross’ issues. [Reply]
I’m super excited about the Ross elevation. Believe me I am plenty skeptical about his abilities at this point. But that reads to me like the chiefs really want to adjust their pass offense and lean into what dhop can do. We’re so reliant on spacing and catch and run, and now we have guys who can do the hard work before the catch. Run good routes and fight like hell to catch contested or in tight spaces. Again I don’t see Ross as anything but a sub to dhop but it really feels like we aren’t just adapting our offense to include dhop, we’re going to build our offense around him. [Reply]
