Penn did not convince me that he is back. He got a good counter in which put Matty Christ's lights out. Penn has all the talent in the world but he beat an old Hughes with just the right shot. Not like it was a crushing blow or Penn had been dominating the fight for some time.
I was shocked that Rampage won the fight. Shit, Rampage was in shock that Rampage won the fight. I had scored it 2 rounds to 1 to Machida. With the domination Machida showed in the final round, the judges would have been justified to call a 30-28 round. [Reply]

It's tough to win rounds on the cards when you are a counter striker and just stand and try to avoid punches to wait for your shot. Rogan was right in that it was Rampage pressing the action the first 2 rounds and 10-8 rounds are rarely seen. If you scored the fight as a whole Machida won, but scoring by rounds he didn't do anything in the first 2. [Reply]

Ramapge won the first two IMO, you can't win a fight running away unless you clearly outstrike the other guy and he did not. As far as 10-8 goes in the third- not even close, Rampage got his shots off, Machida had the better of it but it was never close to being over. [Reply]

Doesn't really matter, whoever wins is just holding the belt for Jon Jones anyway.
I don't see how you can get to this assumption (about holding the title). Jones is still very young and stupid, he makes plenty of mistakes that he still tries to correct every fight. I think you're blinded by the level of competition that hes had so far. You will see a longer fight in Ryan Bader and you'll see some of his weaknesses. If he does win he won't be able to walk through Shogun..nobody does. He would rather be on the ground fighting and he won't be knocked out.

Machida won in the old PRIDE rules, but lost in the unified rules, his style works against him and costs him fights, its nobodies fault but his. [Reply]
Question: why doesn't Jason "Mayhem" Miller do more UFC fights? He's 24-7 in his career and went down to a decision with George St. Pierre in his prime. He's only 29 but still, why isn't he going for the big bucks and fame. [Reply]

He doesn't really like the UFC, they left on some weird terms, not horrible or anything but he's happy where he's at. He's signed in strikeforce for a few more fights but he will stay with them. He is essentially only with them so he can fight in Japan, he is a MEGASTAR there. Thats where he began his career and they love him. Watching a K-1, DREAM, Sengoku RC, Shooto, Pancrase, or ZST event is something you must experience, it is the most fun you'll ever have if you're in Japan. Thats why. He is already loaded, hes on Dr Drew every week, The Jason ellis show every monday, and he has his own TV show going into the 4th season, his assets are secure :-) [Reply]

Well that kinda sucks for me, he'd be much easier to watch if he were fighting in UFC. LOL, what the hell is that guy doing on Dr. Drew, getting shock therapy treatment?
He does the weekly sex talk with Dr. Drew, its pretty comical. I'll post the live feed in here next time I listen to it! Also if you're interested I'll shoot you a link to watch him fight whenever he does. [Reply]

That would be awesome. I caught him on the Joe Rogan podcast last night (not live) and he's an hilarious dude...and a ****ing wild man.
Got me thinking about where the hell he's been. [Reply]
