That was the first thing that entered my mind...they are creating a NEW narrative...and distancing themselves from their own creation.
Like I said...some of the stupidest shit out there. They have show producers telling which angle to take any given week...it's all fake and disingenuous.
It doesn't matter if it's fake though...as long as it's interesting. [Reply]
And every one of the other talking heads pooh poohs it and pretends it wasn't real even though each one of them got an open saying those exact things. [Reply]
Meh. In America, we love an underdog. Once that underdog becomes successful, we think it's neat for a minute, then we look for another underdog. The first underdog then becomes the villain when they continue to win.
I'm the only Chiefs fan among my closest and oldest friends. They all wearily acknowlege the greatness of the Chiefs, especially of Mahomes...and they all hate it and are tired of it. Just the other day we were talking about it and one of them just said flat out "I'm just tired of the Chiefs. I just want someone else to win it. Anyone but the Chiefs".
I smiled and said "Let the hate flow, and inject it into my veins!"
That's America. When you lose, they root for your success. When you finally succeed, they want to tear you down.
We win this threepeat, and they can never take that away. Greatest franchise in the history of the NFL, no doubt. We win this, and the hate will be intolerable. And I'm here for it! [Reply]

That's not setting the bar particularly high.
Dan Orlovsky was firmly aboard the "Patrick Mahomes is broken" train, spouting the same braindead shit everyone else was, the difference is that he's taken his bitch slap reality check a little better than the rest. [Reply]

Lot of truth to that.
Had the whole country behind us for that NE-KC AFCCG in 2018-19.
One thing that doesn't surprise me but is hilarious -- you will notice fans of the Ravens, Bills, Bengals, etc. in the AFC now say, "if my team can't win it, then make it the Chiefs again or the NFC"
I've saw these takes within just the past week. Because Patrick has already separated so far from Josh, Lamar, and Joe. Now, those fan bases would rather stay equal or above those other counterparts bc they know there's no catching Patrick anymore. [Reply]

I've turned them off completely. They just blow smoke out their arse. We don't have good football analysts like Jack Whitaker anymore.
I'll take your game thoughts analysis over theirs, anytime. Those ESPN commentators couldn't pour p!ss out of a boot, even if the directions were on the heal of the boot. [Reply]

How quickly things change.
Unfortunately the league wasn't, NE wins the toss and we never see the ball in the OT. Propose a change to the OT rules for the next year and nothing. But then the Chiefs do it to the Bills and NOW they listen and change the rule. That's one reason why I find the whole league is rigging it for the Chiefs narrative so stupid. [Reply]

Four.
We're winning FOUR straight Super Bowls... [Reply]
The combination of simple jealousy, social media and coming directly off the heels of the Patriots dynasty has hastened this Chiefs fatigue without a doubt.
And it really sucks that it's stupidly that much more imperative that we pull off the 3peat, doing what no other NFL team has ever been able to do simply to truly validate and reinforce the enormous accomplishments of this franchise over the past six years. Really shouldn't have to be like this, but here we are. [Reply]
A saw a clip of a panel featuring Ndamukong Suh, Jason Bell, some lady who used to coach with the Bills and the host of the show. All four never had the Chiefs even making the superbowl. Suh picked Detroit to win it, Bell picked the Ravens, the host picked the Ravens and the lady picked the Bills.
Back to back champs with a 15-1 record and our guys still have to prove themselves year after year in the eyes of so many doubters. Oh well let's go get it!!. [Reply]

There is no argument to four straight super bowl wins.
It stands on its own. It will never be repeated. It is the ultimate trump card... [Reply]
