Honestly there aren't many teams in the AL playing that great right now. The Tigers are legit the hottest team. Even the Astros who clobbered us, they haven't really been playing that well outside of that series if you look back over the last couple weeks. Reds thumped them the last couple days.
Even the Yankees are getting clobbered tonight and they've got some real question marks about their closer now. He got lit up again and blew the game last night. Boone made it sound like they may mix it up for the closer spot going forward, which is a scary place to be with 3 weeks to go. Literally none of these AL teams looks like a world beater right now. But someone will get hot these last 3 weeks. [Reply]
I had written off tonight’s Tigers game but it’s now 5-5. Still a good shot at literally a perfect day (the Mariners are off the concern board for now) [Reply]
Back to 5.5 game lead on Boston, Detroit and now Seattle. All are 70-70.
Tampa is 69-70 and plays this afternoon. If they win, they’ll be 70-70 too.
21 games left for KC. Realistically we just need to go close to .500 (10-11)
Can’t imagine any of those teams going 16-6 the rest of the way. Especially when many of them play each other.
Big series coming up against Minny tomorrow. They’ve been struggling too. Offense waning and injuries really hurting them. We need to take 2 out of 3 to be in a good spot before we head to NY to play the Yankees. [Reply]
