Outside of Mahomes, that's more than anyone other than Burrow has done, and it could have been a fluke for Burrow because he can't stay healthy. [Reply]
Love’s ceiling is absolutely worth this contract, unlike guys like Lawrence and Tua. He has a very unique and potentially elite skill set. He’s incredibly humble and has already become a positive influence in the community. Everyone keeps saying he only did it for half a season, but those games on film show an incredibly talented QB who can make every throw while playing with a cast of nothing but young, unproven players at the skill positions. The growth the entire unit showed together was incredibly impressive.
The Packers are loaded with young, cheap talent and as much as I dislike their personalities, LeFleur is an excellent coach and Guty is an elite GM. His draft last year was disgusting, it was Veach level impressive. They are going to be a very good team for the foreseeable future. [Reply]
Wait, which draft? The 2023 class? Was it really all that good? Have a Packers fan friend and he was absolutely livid they let the Lions outmaneuver them for Brian Branch, and it turns out he was probably right. [Reply]

Oh yeah, they ended up with 5-6 guys making major contributions in their rookie years who are expected to take on even bigger roles this year. That doesn’t even include Lucas Van Ness, who was their #1 and probably their 6-7th best rookie last year.
They have quietly put together a terrific roster from 1-53. They look a lot like they did right before Favre and Rodgers both broke out. They still have to take the next step, which is always a crap shoot, but they are poised for big things if they live up to their potential. [Reply]

There is not a soul on the planet who would say they have a top-10 WR room in the NFL. Don’t pretend that putting “depth-wise” on there is some meaningful qualifier. [Reply]

I actually had this thought as well. They seem decent and young so the potential is definitely there, but wasn’t their #1 Christian Watson basically hurt all year?
There are plenty of WR rooms that I’d take over theirs last season. [Reply]

Newsflash: THIS IS GOOD FOR US. Our QB is making less than like ten other guys in the league AND OURS IS ACTUALLY WORTH IT.
This just applies more pressure to our rivals to hit on every possible draft pick and FA acquisition.
Yep. Spend away other teams!
Mahomes is under contract until 2016 and by then he'll already be rich as hell with this contract and endorsement money. With how competitive he is, I don't see him wanting to break the bank with the next contract.
I will say that I would be more comfortable paying Love than Tua, Purdy or Dak. At least Love has the physical tools that suggest he's on a trajectory to be an elite-level QB. [Reply]

that's because the 9ers are a pro bowl roster. He's not bad, don't get me wrong. But if you put him on a team like the Giants or Panthers or something I don't think he'd look that great.
Giving him a highest paid player contract is what I'm laughing about [Reply]

Just a really dumb statement. He played really well last season surrounded by a very young team. Do you have any idea how much money this "not that good" QB would be offered if the Packers let him hit the open market?
If you think you know more than the NFL GMs who'd be falling over themselves trying to grab him if GB was stupid enough to let him hit the market, your post proves otherwise. [Reply]
