He purposefully won the game by pantsing Ward. He embarrassed him and made sure he'll never forget it. The Tom and Jerry playcall purposefully put Mecole on Ward's side. The play design pulled the LB's up for a QB run that Patrick did a few plays earlier in the drive. Andy put Ward in the impossible spot of 2 vs 1. He stayed with Kelce so Mecole was wide open. If he went to Mecole, then Kelce would be wide open to win the game.
That's why Kelce didn't even look at Mecole when the play happened. He knew it was over the second Ward followed him. And then Kelce laughed in Ward's face.
I guess if Kelce saw Mahomes scrambling, he'd start running around. Not sure I've ever seen a player use a jumbotron like that, other than when they're running back a long return. [Reply]

Kelce chirping at Ward mic’d up was awesome. I wish Kelce would have lit him up yesterday when he was on stage…then again, maybe he did and I just didn’t understand him during his incoherent blackout drunk ramblings :-) [Reply]

I was going to mention this after the post went up. He had serious beef with Sal that trickled over to when he came to KC. One of Andy's first years here we had just beaten the Eagles on prime time (I think it was them, could have been someone else) and Sal was still doing sideline reporting for ESPN. Sal came up to Andy acting all friendly and Andy totally told him to basically screw off on national television.
I really hope someone else remembers this, because I laughed out loud and thought it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. [Reply]

Yeah, they were walking off the field and Andy happily greeted him with a shit-eating smile.
If I remember right, Andy said his name in a drawn-out manner. It was hilarious. [Reply]

That's because Ward isn't worth remembering, and the Niners drastically overpaid for him. Breeland was much more of a badass and made way more memorable plays. [Reply]
