Became a Chiefs fan in the early 90's when Word, Okoye, DT, Smith was here.
Looking back on 30+ years with this team. I remember the 97 playoffs like it was yesterday when we went 13-3 and the ****ing Vaseline greased up donkey dicks beat us in Arrowhead and what an absolute gut punch that was.
So I wanna share something here. I went through some awful shit in my teen years with multiple friends being killed and a lot of other stuff in my life.
One thing I really learned from loss, was how to appreciate when things were truly good.
As a fan, sometimes I just sit and think it's wild for us to be here in this position. Where we're the absolute center of every sports show, every commentator, all the hate we get (which I love), and the fact that from top to bottom we have the best organization in the NFL.
Bro it feels weird to even type that with all the Carl Peterson years (some weren't that bad but some were truly awful).
You guys don't know this but I was friends with Jovan Belcher and I remember the day the news hit and before I even saw the name I knew. Don't ask me how but I did. He used to text me about upgrades for his car and send me pics and vice versa.
I'm friends with several former Chiefs players and sometimes we talk about how crazy this time is.
Anyway, the point is......man I hope you guys really take all this in right now because we will never get it again like this.
From Pat, to Andy, Trav, this defense, everything. There are fans for teams for 50+ years that die and never see a single Lombardi. EVER. We've seen 3 in four years. And hopefully the only 3peat to ever happen.
Just a reminder to really be present. This is some damn good times to be a Chiefs fan, fellas. [Reply]
I can attribute my Chiefs fandom to my Dad. He was a real football fan back in the day. These days he watches the games but complains about players salaries being too high. I'm fine with that. He grew up poor as dirt and had 2 of his childhood homes washed away in floods. At 82 years of age, he's allowed to have a grievance or two where money is concerned.
The year was 1967. For Christmas he bought my a Chiefs uniform, complete with pads, helmet, pants and Len Dawson jersey. I was BIG TIME! From that moment on, I was sold for life.
I lived through the Paul Wiggins years, the Marv Levy Wing-T offense and the Todd Blackledge debacle. Mackovic, Gansz, 9 years of "Marty ball" and a pathetic year of Gunther Cunningham. Vermeil gave me hope but it was short lived. 6 miserable years of Edwards, Haley and Crennel. There were other sad times as well. Joe Delaney drowns, Derek Thomas passes away, and the horrible Jovan Belcher disaster. Life was never easy being a Chiefs fan. Then along came Andy Reid.
From the time I was a tike, grinning from ear to ear while wearing that Len Dawson uniform, I waited 50 long years for another Super Bowl victory. We now have 3 more than we did back then and, the football Gods willing, we may be looking at a 5th this year. We're now living in a time that Chiefs fans have never before experienced. Mahomes, Kelce, Jones with Andy Reid at the helm. Enjoy this time while it's here. It may never come again, or at least, not for a long while. [Reply]

Wow. That might be the pinnacle right there. The way you know without a shadow of a doubt that you're a first ballot hall of fame insufferable asshole.
So insufferable that after communication with you, a professional athlete would zero his girlfriend, and then himself, and you know immediately what happened without needing to be told.
Id get started on the speech bruh. You're a lock. [Reply]

And it’s happening in everyone’s favorite sport…Football which makes it that much better. [Reply]
I watched Lenny the cool throwing to Otis Taylor in the SB, I was hooked. Season ticket holder for 15 years or so. I loved tailgating with my friends even when we sucked. Way too many painful losses than I care to remember. [Reply]

If we're gonna put McDuffie on that list :-) you can add Thuney and Creed as well. Trey Smith is not a HOF G. [Reply]
Today was a inter-division slugfest. For those of you who apparently can't remember the last 14 wins in a row, take a breath, look in the reflection of the speculum in which you most likely feed yourself, and kegel your woman parts.

I do have a question on this.... isn't this what literally every offense does, playing a checkdown game? And isn't it what literally every defense does these days, sacrificing the flats and decent yardage in order to force offenses into 10+ play drives?
So.... how is that broken? 14 points... broken?

I've been saying this the whole season. Teams finally caught on
