Then hilarity ensues.
edit: I would say the rarest outcome is a split draw [Reply]

Just stop.
Conor has made a career of running over these muscley midget Wrestlers.
He just embarrassed a guy who destroyed RDJ and you're still talking about Chad Mendes. Just admit you were wrong and move on. [Reply]

Someone was asking me before the fight if I thought Eddie would wreck Conor and finally expose him.
My response: Man, I lost $300 betting on Jose Aldo. After that fight, I will not doubt Conor against anyone or anything ever again, including a fight against a fucking African Lion until he gives me a reason to doubt him.
That said, I thought Eddie should be favored and I was open to the possibility that Conor could beat Eddie, but I did not think it would be that easy. [Reply]

Was it Buffer who announced it wrong or the NY commision that wrote it down wrong on the card? He stopped reading the decision the first time and went to go check on something before announcing it incorrectly. Then obviously had to announce the correct decision again later. [Reply]

I would be surprised if it was the NYSAC's error. They have a lot of experience regulating boxing and the various types of draws are a LOT more common in boxing than in MMA. But who knows.
edit: this image suggests Buffer fucked it up. Majority draw was written in the same pen as the scores. Bruce Buffer likes to make notes like which judges to read in which order, and that sharpie had the incorrect split decision.
Oh, and WTF Doug Crosby? I can see a 10-8 in round 4, but round 1?!? And if you ARE going to give a 10-8 in round 1, then WTF do you think happened in round 4?

I would have scored round 1 10-8.
Woodley landed like 50 strikes and Thompson was a mess. He dominated him with his wrestling, and was never 'laying and praying' His was VERY active in beating the hell out of WB.
I think Thompson landed 1 or 2.
That's more than a significant disparity.
He didn't 'rock' him, but it was pure 1 sided domination. I don't view this like boxing. A 10-8 round doesn't need a 'knockdown' in my eyes at all. I would have woodley up 10-8 in 1 and 4. I think it's a joke Wooley didn't win a unanimous decision. The most memorable moments for Thompson revolved around his incredible resilience, which was only on display because he was getting beat down hard.
I hate Woodley's stand up game. He just makes it boring. [Reply]

What was I wrong about? Tell me. Did I ever say Conor was going to lose? Nope. I even told my friend before the fight that I was going with McGregor in the fight after he put money on Alvarez, because pre-fight Alvarez reminded me a lot of Rhonda Rousey before the Holm fight. He looked nervous in every conference and had the stupidest comebacks and shit talking for McGregor. The constant booing off stage got to him.
Mendes exposed his ground game. Alvarez should have done better in that fight but he decided for what ever reason to box. What did he have? 1 takedown attempt, after he had already been knocked down 3 times? He even said so himself that he let Conor get to him and once he got into the ring he didn't listen to a thing that he had trained for. His plan going into the fight was to throw kicks and take the fight to the ground. Outside of the first minute of the fight he did none of that.
I highly doubt you would see Khabib trying to box McGregor, not even a quarter of his game is striking. [Reply]
Machida has been suspended for 18 months retroactive to April. So, he can fight next October.
The punishment for a 1st time use of steroids is supposed to be 2 years, but he got 1.5 because he told USADA that he took the steroid-containing supplement (but didn't know it included steroids) while they were collecting his sample. It wasn't a tainted supplement, he's just a dumbass who didn't thoroughly research everything on the label. [Reply]

To be fair, Conor does have a good point. Khabib fought twice this year, but before that he was out for a full 2 years from constant injuries, cancelling fights left and right. If Khabib had fought 6 times in the last 2 years he'd be undeniable, but right now Conor can easily demand that Khabib demonstrate that he can be relied on to show up for the fight. [Reply]

I have no idea how AKA continues their training style in the face of every fighter on their roster (in the UFC) has had to back out of multiple fights due to injury. [Reply]
Brazil's MMA regulators have suspended Roy Nelson for 9 months (so until June 29) and fined him $24,000 for kicking John McCarthy. I assume the suspension will be honored by all AC's. He could have gotten 2 years, but they said it was clear he didn't intend to hurt McCarthy. [Reply]
