But they do have a 2nd or 3rd round rated QB on a rookie contract!

How did Bo Nix impress Sean Payton today at rookie mini-camp?

“It’s almost like watching a good golfer.”

He was clean. He was efficient. He didn’t make mistakes.

“I don’t want to use the term boring, but he made pretty good decisions.”

It's almost as if some people are totally oblivious to the fact that teams have fluff published about their players and the team's chances before the season starts. It's like the every team in the league wants the fans to believe in them, buy gear, and buy season tickets before the season starts.

Reminds me so much of the Alex Smith years.

Is this game manager language?

“Smart, experienced big-game signal-caller, getting very high grades in the efficiency department this past season.

He's a straight dropback passer who stands tall in the pocket, doesn't show nervous feet, and does a nice job working through his progressions. He's not going to try to force the action, rarely trying to perform beyond his capability. He threw a TD pass in all 16 games he started against [redacted] opposition, while tossing 15 straight completions during the second half of action this past season against [redacted]. He's accurate, throws a very catchable ball, and also knows when to take a little off the pass.”

Uhhh... it kind of is, yeah. If those skills translate to the NFL, he's a less mobile Alex Smith.

Congratulations.

Allow me to fill in for the redacted portions of this quote.

1) The first redacted would say "inferior"

2) The 2nd redacted would say "Podunk University".

That was Mel Kiper’s scouting report for Tom Brady, by the way.
