We know. We won the SB with one. You know what’s better than a franchise QB on a rookie contract? A generational QB who single handedly prevented every other franchise QB on a rookie salary from winning a SB.

What’s even wilder is that his rookie contract QB will make no difference because he plays in the same division as the greatest QB of this generation.

Mahomes has as many rings since 2018 as every other starting QB……combined.

By my count we have:

Stafford - 1
Wilson - 1
Rodgers - 1

That’s it. Mahomes, even while taking up the most cap space % of any QB ever, still is more dominant than anyone else and he’s just now hitting his prime. But at least the Broncos can boast a 2nd-3rd round QB they drafted at 12 being on a rookie deal. Now Knowmo can replace his QB of the moment fathead with a new one of Nix while KC continues to dominate.

:-) 67 million dead cap in 2024 alone.

"Basically cheating!!!" (Themselves as they can't really take advantage of the rookie QB contract :-))

$85 million dead hit from Russ which they split into the next 2 years which absolutely eliminates the rookie contract :-)

That’s why they didn’t spend in FA this year. They couldn’t afford to :-)

You're paying Russ 45 million to rot in Pittsburgh :-) PLUS more big money NEXT year. KC has the best roster in the NFL, the best QB to play the game and is STILL better cap shape than Denver the next 2 years

4th year in and General Reach-a-ton! still has the Broncos as the 2nd worst roster. God I love him so much.

Russ and Bo will count (roughly):

$57M against our 2024 cap
$36M against our 2025 cap
$5M against our 2026 cap
$5M against our 2027 cap

Bo’s rookie year will be a developmental year anyways. Denver will be sitting pretty afterwards.

So you'll get the advantage/benefit of a cheap rookie contract for 2 years :-)

PFF seems to think that Denver had a better roster than KC did last year.

NFL ranks in "Supporting Cast Rating" in terms of average team PFF rush, receiving, pass blocking and run blocking grades (everything except passing) over the past five seasons: pic.twitter.com/4l7WSUlWGb

"Except passing"

:-)

So what does this say about Payton that he wasn't able to get into the playoffs despite being 11th?

:-)
