I think you’d have to agree that fewer MVPs than Aaron Rodgers would be a massive disappointment.

Knowmo, what is your opinion on franchises that have 4 Superbowls or more?

Lol.

A 3-peat would tie us with Dallas and the 9ers for 2nd most SB wins.

And even if a lot of GMs would have traded for Wilson in that situation (very debatable, as a lot of people had acknowledged that he was in decline and losing athleticism), they wouldn't have given up four 1st/2nd rounders and three talented players to get him. And then turned around and given him a ludicrous contract with a $50 mil signing bonus before he stepped foot on the field. :-)
On the other hand if you believe he was worth 1st/2nd and 3 talented players...you had to sign him long term and he pretty well knew he was getting an overflated contract. It really becomes pretty circular. Someone worth 1st/2nd and 3 players=someone you believe worth a huge contract.

The extension was by FAR the biggest foul-up there.

The trade was a bit of an overpay but that's what QBs cost. But with that trade, they had some real financial flexibility baked into his deal. Then gave him an extension that set it all ablaze.

The extension should've gotten Paton fired. Maybe not the trade - I'll concede that there were reasons to believe it could've worked out and/or it was a necessary risk to get back to truly relevant.

But man, that extension was just so very, very bad.

And arguably the greatest dynasty in the history of the NFL.

The contract was part of the trade. Russ wouldn’t have agreed to come to Denver without it.

Wilson’s contract could’ve been MUCH worse. Mark Rodgers was pushing hard for a fully guaranteed contract because Deshaun Watson had just gotten one, but Paton wouldn’t budge.

It’s been a joy listening to that POS Mark Schlereth put the full court press on the Bo Nix pick to hand wave for his buddy Sean Payton and his team.

“You don’t need great arm strength to be a great QB. The game is now played in the middle of the field due to cover 2 anyway. How many guys today have arm strength and are accurate downfield to threaten defenses? How many guys are like that successfully?”

Dude is citing Brees, Tom Brady and Joe Burrow while ignoring Mahomes, Allen, Love, Rodgers, Stafford etc. this moron calls games for FOX and apparently didn’t see Love and Stroud destroy defenses down the field all last season? :-)

1. Stick with Drew Lock
2. Draft Kenny Picket
3. Take a swing at one of the two 9x Pro Bowl QBs who were rumored to be available.

I don't like the result of the Russ trade, but the decision made perfect sense at the time, and in the end, it might've been the best thing that ever happened because it led us to Sean Payton and Bo Nix.

Good Lord.

I really cant wait to see the massive turd this combo becomes.
