Interesting it was not the Raiders but the Rams who would have drafted Nix. But there is so much misinformation going on, I doubt anyone will say for sure where he would have gone in not for Denver. Rams most likely just wanted another QB gone before they picked their DL [Reply]

1. Stick with Drew Lock

I don't like the result of the Russ trade, but the decision made perfect sense at the time, and in the end, it might've been the best thing that ever happened because it led us to Sean Payton and Bo Nix.

Not only does Sean Payton know QBs, he knows how to get the most out of them as well:
Spoiler!
Drew Brees' stats pre and post-Payton (4 years each, I didn't count his rookie year):

I’m sure Veach liked Mahomes, but so did Ballard, Dorsey, and Reid. They would’ve traded up for him with or without Veach.
Even your hand-picked article acknowledges that Veach was "smitten." So why do you find it unlikely that Veach was the one pounding the table initially? Both can be true. Dorsey may have been extremely interested in Mahomes come draft day, and Veach may be the biggest reason he was so interested.
None of it frankly matters anyway. Veach has proven himself 10x over since he assumed the GM role. Paton.....LOL. [Reply]

Yea, he's too dumb to realize he posted something that proves the point about Veach. [Reply]

No, there were definitely other options.
And even if a lot of GMs would have traded for Wilson in that situation (very debatable, as a lot of people had acknowledged that he was in decline and losing athleticism), they wouldn't have given up four 1st/2nd rounders and three talented players to get him. And then turned around and given him a ludicrous contract with a $50 mil signing bonus before he stepped foot on the field. :-) [Reply]
Don’t forget that he was also hand picked by the greatest developer of QBs in the history of the game who discovered an undrafted Romo before anyone else. Just waiting for the comparisons to Manning, Montana, and Brady. [Reply]

Yeah, the drafting him in the 1st does seem like a stretch regardless. I would think they'd have other needs that could've been addressed with that pick, besides taking a QB that wouldn't see the field for 1-2+ seasons. [Reply]
