The headliner for UFC 206 is rumored to be Bisping vs Nick Diaz for the Middleweight title.
Before you yell bullshit, Bisping got medically cleared, he wants to fight in December, and the big 4 contenders are all already booked. Plus, if GSP isn't happening then the UFC desperately needs a draw for the Canadian card in 206, and this would obviously sell tickets, so....
As a fight fan its absurd, but as a freakshow fight fan, I'll definitely buy it.
UFC has turned into Pride without the roids and soccer kicks. [Reply]

I remember back in the day when they showed Pride fights on Fox Sports with Glazer and Trigg, Glazer said 'this Don Frye fight will leave you speechless.'
Busy Weekend. The UFC card this weekend would have been a must-watch no matter what, because I'm not going to go a full month without UFC. But, its actually very good for free TV standards. RDA vs Ferguson? Sure, sign me up. Its also a Mexico City card, so prepare to see fighters hilariously gas out early.
edit: wow, Charles Oliveira missed weight by a whopping 9 pounds. :-)
Friday
5:00 pm - (Fightpass) - TKO MMA. Never heard of this promotion, don't recognize any of the fighters. eh, whatever.
8:00 pm - (Spike) - Bellator 163. Couple names on the card. Not bad, Bellator, keep trying.
Saturday
1:00 pm - (Fightpass) - Glory 35. Hmmm, kickboxing or college football? Not sure yet what I'll pick. I'll figure it out when I see the football schedule. Maybe both.
5:30 pm - (Fightpass until 7pm, then FS1) - UFC Fight Night
Sunday
8:00 pm - (Fightpass) - EBI 9, the Light Heavyweights. And EBI? Nice. If you've never watched the Eddie Bravo Invitational tournament before, you should check it out once to see if its your thing or not. [Reply]
Jon Jones lost his arbitration hearing. He is suspended for one year retroactive to June 6th
edit: The arbitrators ruled that they believed Jon Jones did not knowingly take a banned substance and the "dick pill" he took was contaminated. However, they gave him the 1 year because he was reckless, he didn't read any labels or do any research, a teammate gave it to him and he took it without a 2nd thought.
By contrast, the other guys who got the reduced 6 month penalty for tainted supplements had checked the labels and looked the product up first to make sure nothing banned was on the label before taking it. [Reply]

oh, fucking hell. Oh well, doesn't hurt it much.
Looks like it wasn't his fault, his opponent didn't bother to cut weight and was fatter than hell. Their weight differential was too wide for them to do a catchweight under New York rules.
edit: This is the 3rd time KG missed weight at WW, and the UFC didn't have a backup lined up [Reply]
