That should end this discussion.
I think Denver still has the higher playoff winning percentage, but I believe as a franchise KC owns every other significant statistic in a head to head comparison. [Reply]
Elway probably has more yards, etc from longevity, but what hasn't Mahomes done that Elway has? A 5th superbowl is about it, but the 3rd superbowl win kind of blows that out of the water.
The Elway worship is annoying. Talented player, obviously, but also overrated by many.
We always hear that we can't compare his stats to modern QBs, which of course is true to an extent. But what they always leave out is that Elway's numbers didn't compare that well to his peers either. And no matter what era you played in, having a bunch of seasons with more INTs than TDs isn't a good thing. 5 times he had as many or more INTs than TDs, and in two other seasons he was +1. Guys like Marino were destroying his numbers. While Elway was throwing under 20 TDs every year, Marino was putting up 40+. And he pretty much always had way more TDs than INTs.
Even when Elway had a loaded roster late in his career, guys like Kurt Warner were dwarfing his numbers. [Reply]

It's been said plenty the reason Elway had so many comebacks is because he played like shit to bury them in the hole. [Reply]
Mahomes is in the all-time greats of the AFC west...and it is a distinguished list. I just don't think QBs today could have survived the 70's, 80's, and 90's.

This is how you do it right. I hope other opposing fans are taking notes because Garcia is putting on a clinic on how to subtly lure other members in. [Reply]
Mahomes and Elway should never be mentioned in the same breath. Elway is well below what we've seen in only SIX years :-). SIX years and he's already eclipsed John's entire career. This is not arguable.

QB Mount Rushmore can only be a 3 headed monument. Adding any other would be a HUGE disrespect. Brady, Montana, Mahomes. Hilarious how irrelevant Mahomes has made 5 head and Horse face. They are both clearly in a tier below and he's already surpassed both of their careers. [Reply]

I beg to differ, go look up Mahomes game against the Saints from 2020, it was a planned and practiced injury game by your lovely Head Coach, the Saints beat the shit out of him that day. That game proved that Mahomes could play when QB's got their ass kicked. [Reply]
