Likely Nix or Penix, don’t know if JJ makes sense. Penix injury history is the big red flag. My guess is they go Nix. Maybe they can trade back a few from 12, add a pick or two and get one of those guys.

In FA, go after Minshew…
I'm wondering if Minshew gets a big-ish contract from somebody. He's better than the starters of many teams. [Reply]
If 5 head hadn't broken his neck forcing him out of Indy and then used illegal hgh (hilarious how he fell off a cliff once the testing came out)....Denver would have been a worthless franchise for nearly 3 decades. The joke that was Superfarce 50 is a black eye on the league's credibility the way it is [Reply]

Don’t worry. In 11 daysish they’ll be in our rear view mirror [Reply]

The way he turned back the clock 15 years in 2013 was suspicious as f***. [Reply]

Baker may fit the system well but chances are Denver wants to drop QB salary at least in the short term. They will be spending a ton if they release Russell Wilson as expected. [Reply]
McGlinchey was one of the worst RT's in pressure rate and they're gonna lose Bolles :-)
“What’s really going to happen with this (#Broncos) dead money is you are going to lose players on your roster. I don’t know how they are going to keep Garett Bolles on this team. I know Garett thinks that (the #Broncos wont keep him). Can’t pay everyone….” @JamesPalmerTVpic.twitter.com/H2QrBCIWuB

They are better off drafting Nix. I question how good Penix will be. To me he seems like a QB who will bounce around the league and end up having a long career as a backup. There's not a QB that will hit FA that moves the needle for them, although bringing in one will be epic for us to point and laugh at. [Reply]

No doubts he was on HGH. No one drops off that quickly "naturally". He went from a Top 2 QB to one who was so bad that he was a liability on his team. [Reply]

They'll have to cut more than just Bolles. If they make Russ a Post 6/1 Cut (to save money the upcoming year) and cut Bolles, they're still 7.93M Over the Cap... per OverTheCap. [Reply]
All these AFC West teams are just chasing their tails, trying to put out fires from poor investments of the past five + years. It's a mess.
I like Payton a lot but this is a delicate rebuild here. If you don't make great personnel choices with highly limited resources and continue to lose, eventually your message becomes unwelcomed and the belief disappears. [Reply]

It seems impossible for them to do it without making him a 6/1 casualty.
I mean if they cut Wilson (6/1), Bolles, Simmons, Patrick and DJ Jones, that would put them at about $20 million over the cap headed into the off-season. And they'd STILL have a $50 million dead charge in 2025. And that would effectively destroy the 2025 season for them as well.
Now their roster would be so barren in 2025 that they'd have about $100 million in cap space if they did that, but they'd only have 23 guys under contract (and Surtain wouldn't be one of them).
McGlinchey, Sutton, Allen, Powers and a bunch of scrap (Mims, Dulcich and Bonitto probably the best of the rest).
They're completely fucked for 2 and probably 3 seasons. [Reply]
