The sports card market is absolutely booming right now. I sold off enough of my other stuff to buy this. There are only 10 of them. It is indescribably beautiful.
Anyone have a Mahomes auto jersey? I'm looking at picking one up but Ebay freaks me out. There's a few on there with Beckett Witness signature, JSA, or Fanatic authorization. [Reply]

Ebay is fine, just make sure to stick with the reputable authentication companies: JSA, PSA/DNA, Beckett Authentication Services (BAS), or Fanatics. [Reply]

You did well.
Consider it this way. A blaster box at Walmart would have cost you $30 and you would have never pulled 3 low #'d autos. Lucky you would have gotten 1 not #'d auto of a UDFA scrub. And in a hobby box it would have cost you around $100 and you probably would not get what you wanted. [Reply]

Oh nice. I really want to get into selling cards (I run an e-commerce side gig) but I just have no idea where to start?
Any recommendations?

Thanks!
Oh my so much info to have out there. But the basics are to start slow. Don't do any group breaking. Buying packs and opening ethem rarely works out either. Let the other fools spend their money busting it open. You'll buy it off ebay from them for pennies on the dollar. Don't go willy nilly and start spending money hand over fist. For the most part you will never recoup the money back. Stick to buying singles under the $50 price range. Buy and hold anything from the mid 70's on back. 99% of the junk wax era and modern base cards are paper weight. RC QB's are always hot, until their not. Stick away from pitchers in baseball for the most part. Go for the hitters more times than not. Young guns in hockey can do well. Numbered cards, colors, on card autos, HOF auto's are usually what you want to stick around with in the modern era. Go to card shows and network with other collectors. Join COMC and make some offers for entire collections. Be wary of any card shop not willing to comp ebay prices. Hustling cards is not easy. It takes a ton of time and energy.
If it were me, I'd hold off an grading in the beginning and focus on building yourself a small PC with stuff you like. Learn to accurately check the condition of cards yourself.
If you are looking to buy product. Like cases and cases of hobby products You are going to run into a good ol'boy network that unless you have real capital you will run into many obstacles. [Reply]
