The Chargers aren't paying anyone $17-$20MM a year to coach them.

Pierce is in their price range. Davis needs a headliner in Vegas, has been will fit right in

I do find it funny that we did almost nothing and still may wind up with the division title. Just need to fix the WR issue and we could get number 9 straight. All other division teams have no QB or no coach or both.

Wilson’s stats look good and he is playing much better than last season, but that is a low bar. If you watch the games, they were not winning because he has nice stats. Sutton bailed him out a few times. The defense set them up nicely in several games. If fans are honest with themselves, they feared what might happen more than they had confidence in Russ making something positive happen. No, Denver’s issues were never just Russ, but he was never worth the trade or new contract. They did what they thought they had to do and rather than play this out over the contract, just cut your losses, absorb the pain and move on.

This move should guarantee the firing of Paton

I believe Russ adds 39 for next year on top of the 18 they are already over. Then another 46 in 2025. It's bad.

Frankly that’s the smart move if you are really building to compete in the future. First smart move in a long time.

The 35.4m (not 39m) does not get added to the 18m they are already over. The 35.4 is already getting counted, as that would be his cap hit next season. Actually, if he stays on the team, it will be more because he will have an option trigger.

One of the worst trades in NFL history

Ok, wasn't sure about that. Still, he'll be about 16 percent of the cap next year and over 20 percent in 25. They're gonna have to unload and start over.

Nonsense. They will just cut the dead weight (Russ and Tim Patrick) and extend (and convert salary to prorated bonus) the players who are on their last year that they want to keep (Bolles, Simmons, DJ Jones).

I'm no cap expert, but I got them to $20m in cap space in 2024 and $85m in cap space in 2025 on overthecap.com by doing just that.

Are we still in the "we'll see about Russ" phase, mania?

Not sure that’s something to celebrate. Things could very easily get worse before they get better. You might be looking at a decade without a postseason appearance.
