Okay, here is a place for the Golfers to talk about tournaments, clubs, swing help or thoughts.
Today is the Players Championship, which I think ought to be the 5th Major. Largest pot in the PGA. The daunting 17th, which seems to bring excitement every year. At least we will get to see Sergio blow up yet again.

That was messed up.

I feel like there should be more consistency in what the players get when they miss a fairway. Some guys get no punishment and others get totally screwed. That happens in golf sometimes but to have it be a determining factor in a tournament kind of sucks. They probably put in the wire grass so they wouldn't have to water or mow the rough but they branded it as a feature. [Reply]

I like watching Dechambeau but he's gotten very lucky with the lies in the waste areas when he misses the fairway. But having it head to head with Rory and Bryson has got to be the golf producers dream.
It is overrated. But it's a difficult course. I like watching pros struggle. I like to think that everyone sucks at golf, but the pros just suck less than everyone else.
Valhalla rewarded everyone........except for Tiger Woods.
Wait until Oakmont next year. I hope it's windy to boot. [Reply]
Way back in the early 80s we were playing in the Drake Relays up in Des Moines and one course had a drivable par 4. It was a blind shot with a pole and sign behind the green. I smoked it and drove it over the green. Back in the day of wood headed clubs and spiny balls. [Reply]
It is just a very challenging course and very different.
You have water courses, links course, ocean courses, desert courses, short courses, long courses, old growth tree lined courses, bermuda greens, bent grass greens, short courses, long courses, deep rough, light rough, big greens, small greens.
It's all a matter of preference.
The course I have played I think is highly overrated is Torrey Pines. Without the ocean, it's shit. Half Moon Bay is a much better ocean course. [Reply]
