Read the article I linked, his contact has multiple options that I don’t think are being calculated correctly in that table.

He’s not playing as well as his numbers suggest, and Payton isn’t doing a good job hiding how much he can’t stand Russ.

Not all will come out but being in the position for the 3rd QB is a good spot to be in with this QB class.

If for some reason all the QB's get ****ed then I'd draft the LT from Penn State bc he's supposed to be one of the best LT prospects in recent memory.
I forgot about JJ. If we don’t get one of these QBs I’ll be shocked.

Why are you so convinced they're going to fire Paton? The two major knocks against him were the Wilson trade and hiring Hackett. He rectified the Hackett mistake by hiring an allegedly great coach, and now Wilson is playing at the expected level. Paton hasn't drafted that poorly...they've just had no high picks.

Cutting Wilson would also be an embarrassment to Elway and others in the organization.

Broncos traded a 7th and Randy Gregory to the 49ers for a 6th. At least they got something back :-)

Garoppolo and McDaniels are a mess too. We'll see if Brady in the background is as worthless as Manning has been

Not surprised it was the 49ers who gave up something for him. Chubb and Gregory were monsters in our game against them last year.

Broncos could get a lot of players back this week. The following players practiced this week:

Javonte Williams
Justin Simmons
Mike Purcell
Josey Jewell
PJ Locke
Frank Clark
Lloyd Cushwnberry
Baron Browning

Why have they had no high picks, exactly? Paton has done fine as a draft talent evaluator, but his trades and FA have been awful. I can see him staying on as a powerless figurehead that answers to Payton, but if that changes the way we deal with Wilson then he needs to go.

Also, Elway is not with the Broncos anymore.

That’s if released as June 1st cut and the whole cap hit is split between the 2 years.

I was thinking that Elway was still with them in some capacity, but apparently not. Anyway...

I agree that Paton hasn't been good. In fact, I think he's been pretty terrible. But if Wilson continues to put up solid numbers, I think it will be hard for them to fire him. And lest we forget that practically all of you wanted Wilson at the time of the deal. It was widely celebrated by the fanbase. We're not talking about Pioli bringing in Matt Cassel. You can't pretend that it was an obvious mistake after the fact. And you all supported the Payton hire, which I think most still do. As for the picks he gave up, that's what it cost to get it done. Whoever made the deal was going to give up something substantial. Paton did somehow get a first rounder back for Chubb (easily the most impressive move he's made).
