The mighty Bills from Buffalo will take the AFC this year.
For two decades I watched people say the Patriots window was closed, that their time was dwindling, that it was all over… seemingly every time those predictions happened, the Patriots went and won another Super Bowl.
A lot of doom talk simply because we lost to the Bengals in the playoffs. Let us not forget that the Bills watched their brother DIE on the field just a few weeks prior. Their heart was simply not in it. If it had been, the Bills would have captured the AFC last year.
The Bills have won 2 of their last 3 in Arrowhead and they’re ready to make it 3 of the last 4.

If you can’t use those gifts to win MVPs and postseason games, you’re nothing more than a great QB in concept.
Every argument for Allen starts with an “if” and ignores the obvious intangible advantages that Mahomes has.
“If Allen had Andy Reid…”
“If Allen had Travis Kelce…”
“If Allen had Brett Veach…”
Yeah, well what if Allen had Mahomes’s brain and clutch gene? He doesn’t, which is a large part of why Josh Allen has won jack shit despite all the physical gifts.
That’s it. They won’t acknowledge that Mahomes’ faster processing skills and intellect is what separates the two. Plus Mahomes being calm under pressure vs Allen being so burden by the pressure has a lot to do with their success rate.
Allen seems like a great guy. He wants to win so baldly for that fanbase. It’s the delusional fans that make it hard to root for him and that team to have any meaningful success. [Reply]
It would be really interesting to know the depth of each of their game planning and then all the decisions during the game.... obviously Reid makes Mahomes better, but exactly how much better does Mahomes make Reid in terms of play calling?
We get snippets of it... "do we have time for Wasp?", he was telling them several weeks ago to keep feeding Kareem at the goal line. He wasn't leaving the field on that 4th & 1 in the AFCCG.
I'm sure there are snippets of Allen doing the same stuff, they both demand the ball when it matters most and every once in a while I wonder if it could be to a detriment (Mahomes going back out against the Jags in the playoffs with almost no weight on the bad ankle).
How often is each player driving that bus and what's the net positive effect... my assumption would be that's another difference between the two, yet we have almost no visibility to it. [Reply]

While sure, Pat benefits from Andy it's pretty clear what the deal is here.
Sure, Mahomes is obviously the best quarterback Andy's ever had and if it was a clear, black & white setup where Andy designs and calls the plays and Mahomes obliges, Mahomes would clearly be the best at executing those plays.
I'm just curious about the added value of him and Allen beyond that...coming to the sidelines wanting to run Wasp, input on game plans each week due to film study and so forth, etc. That's the stuff we have little visibility outside of some NFL Films stuff (and I know nothing about from Allen). If I’m the Bills, I’d be on the phone with Dorsey’s agents to see what it would take to pry him away from Detroit. Maybe like a co GM thing, because whoever is scouting for the Bills currently is absolutely bad at his job. I also would have fired McDumbass immediately after 13 seconds. In those 13 seconds he showed you what he was made of. He turtled up, and cost his team that game. They will NEVER win a championship with McD as their coach. [Reply]

The fact that Dorsey can’t hold onto a job despite drafting what, four hall of famers (and that’s not counting his time with Green Bay), shows that there may be an issue outside of talent that’s keeping him from a GM spot.
If I’m Buffalo, I’d see if he’d consider Director of College Scouting to be enough of a promotion and back up the Brinks Truck to make it happen. [Reply]
Some local businesses, including Luna Lounge in Cheektowaga, are leaning into the boycott by hosting an anti-Super Bowl party. The bar plans to provide entertainment by showing highlights of Josh Allen and the Puppy Bowl. https://t.co/Lpwu53QgTQ

He has a Herman Munster look to him as well. [Reply]
