Felix Anudike-Uzomah was drafted with pick 31 of round 1 in the 2023 draft class. He scored a 8.73 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 209 out of 1634 DE from 1987 to 2023. https://t.co/maz03OdBwqpic.twitter.com/xoMJ9ki2Pv
We're approaching the point in the season last year in which Karlaftis started to make an impact on defense. FAU isn't getting as many snaps as what Karlaftis had last year and we have better depth at DE now, but I'm wondering what everyone's thoughts are as to whether Felix will start to get worked more into the defense and get more snaps at some point soon? From the eye test Felix looks like a much more naturally talented pass rusher than Karlaftis, so we'll see. It's become very apparent though that Karlaftis is a just a good football player altogether. We'll see if FAU is, but I'm not worred about him at all. [Reply]
He was getting around 25% of the snaps until Omenihu came back. Now he's getting half as many snaps. Also noticed a lot of those came at the end of games.
He's got 3 veteran studs in front of him and Chris Jones also plays DE at times. Danna, Karlaftis and Jones are all on pace for 10+ sacks and Omenihu already has 1.5 in only 2 games back and I think he would get at least 8 in a full season here.
This is the best DL we've had in a long time so I don't really fault FAU. It sounds like they've redshirted him so far and the plan is for him to take over for Danna next year bc that guy is gonna get paid. [Reply]

Karlaftis was playing with a couple of old vets and Danna wasn't healthy.
It's just a much difference situation with Karlaftis, Omenihu, and Danna in front of him, so hard to know what to expect in terms of playing time. [Reply]

I agree, just hope we see some shred of evidence soon to see some hope for potential into next year.
I think in a game like we saw this past week against Denver where the offense isn't getting it done and the defense may start to get gassed it would be a good situation for FAU to come off the bench as a fresh set of legs and a head full of steam. He's not an every down DE yet but I think he has value as a pass rush specialist at this point, just needs to get the reps. [Reply]

We could have 4 big time pass rushers who are all in good contracts in Omenihu, Karlaftis, Danna, and FAU.
That would create a ton of flexibility to address other needs.
Problem is Danna seems to be playing himself out of what he could pay him.
Good for him though.
I would guess 3 for 20-25 is about where he ends up at. [Reply]
