Nzoner's Game Room>The Bills take the AFC this seasom
JustDíqLix 05:53 PM 08-21-2023
Are you ready for some football!?

I know I am!

With that, I am here to make a proclamation!

The mighty Bills from Buffalo will take the AFC this year.

For two decades I watched people say the Patriots window was closed, that their time was dwindling, that it was all over… seemingly every time those predictions happened, the Patriots went and won another Super Bowl.

A lot of doom talk simply because we lost to the Bengals in the playoffs. Let us not forget that the Bills watched their brother DIE on the field just a few weeks prior. Their heart was simply not in it. If it had been, the Bills would have captured the AFC last year.

The Bills have won 2 of their last 3 in Arrowhead and they’re ready to make it 3 of the last 4.

Let’s go mighty Buffalo Bills! 🦬 🦬 🦬

It didn't work out that way, but you hire your staff to give you the analyses that allow you to make such decisions. If the staff ****ed it up, then deal with your staff.

Furthermore, they did get additional draft capital by trading down twice. If their analysis was that they could get a comparable or better WR by trading down, then the draft capital would be worth it. Finally, if everyone else is refusing to trade with the Chiefs, then it presents the opportunity to take advantage of the Chiefs by asking for more draft capital in return than they might have been able to get from anyone else in such a trade.

You can say it all you want but if they really had their draft board laid out that way, they just aren't very good at college scouting.
It just doesn't matter. I don't care that I get an extra sixth rounder. I am not setting myself up to potentially have what happened last Sunday occur any year, let alone the very next season.

Now, had we offered a top 100 pick? Different story. But for what Buffalo got, it was dumb to let KC get their player.

Yes, exactly. It seems pretty clear that they made some mistakes in the analysis, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't trade with the Chiefs. It means they should improve their staff analysis. If their analysis had been better, they would have placed a higher value on Worthy.

Haha I didn't know he was Einstein. He's just echoing the sports media. Here's a good bit by Nick on the media's unwillingness to criticize the play of the Non-Mahomes QBs.

I live in Vikings country. They didn't lose 4 straight, but they lost 4 SBs. Haven't been back to one in awhile. Oh, and they're a team gives false hope WAY more often than the Bills. How do you think they feel?

How about the never-will franchises like the Cardinals or Lions, which are two historic teams with abysmal histories and win percentages?

The Bills aren't the only franchise with trauma, and I'm tired of them being the only team that gets sympathy. Oh, because it's exhausting and lame if you feel sympathy for everybody who deserves it? Cool, then maybe nobody should get it?

Awesome. Fuck the Bills.

Also, fuck Josh Allen. Let me say it again. Fuck Josh Allen. We're villains so take delight in the suffering of the innocent. Fuck him and his whiney bitch loser white knights in the media.
Remember when Buffalo knocked Montana out of the game in the AFCCG?

Seriously, wasn't it just a couple of pick swaps? Bills turned 133 and 248 into 95 and 221. Especially egregious since what Worthy is elite at the Bills offense completely lacks.

Trading the Jefferson pick for Stefon Diggs

Drafting Elam after the Chiefs stole McDuffie

Kincaid over LaPorta

Coleman over Worthy, Leggete, or McConkey.

The plethora of bad players taken in the second. Cook is the only one worth a damn.

Change one or two of those and history just might be different.

"How was Allen supposed to know where the blitz was coming from?"

Now you see you difference between the Chiefs and the Bills; specifically, the difference between Allen and Mahomes.

Yep. Overwhelming evidence of failure in the front office.

I was listening to one of the local sports talk stations after the AFCCG, and they were talking to some Buffalo radio guy about that trade. He was basically saying that the Bills were behind the Chiefs talent-wise and even if the trade was even, it still left them trailing us and it should have never been made. He suggested that Beane just hang up immediately if we ever call again.

Not to mention the cringey Von Miller deal. Giving a guy who’s damn near ready to sign up for AARP a 5 year deal?

Yeah, that post was more draft focused. Their free agent acquisitions aren't much to write home about either. They've absolutely got some talent on that roster besides Allen but their drafting the past couple of years has been subpar at best and what's really bad for them is they're going to have to deal with the repercussions of that for years still.

I think the reason they're sympathetic to the Bills is because of Josh.

He's a great QB and is very fun to watch when he's on his game, and their organization is right up there with the most well run organizations in the league. Traditional NFL wisdom would tell you if you have the right QB and right team eventually they'll win a ring.

But Mahomes and the Chiefs are the one thing breaking all of that NFL wisdom. Teams don't stay on top for this long, they don't go 3 straight Super Bowls. They don't beat teams like the Bills 4 straight times in the playoffs. Even Brady eventually lost to Manning as well as other QBs. Mahomes just doesn't. Mahomes and the Chiefs are the anomaly in NFL history.

And NFL fans get sick of it when one team is better than everyone else and wins all the time, it's no different than any of the other dynasties in NFL history.

GMs come and go and GMs have long memories. If you hang up on someone calling to entertain a trade, that GM will remember on the day you call him wanting a trade. It doesn't mean you have to make a deal with the guy, but why burn bridges in a field where you may need that bridge yourself? There will come a day when the Bills want to made a draft trade and Beane knows that he can call up Veach and ask Veach to play ball. Veach will be more likely to do so with the knowledge that Beane has played ball with him and is likely to do so in the future.
