1. Early in the episode when we began to see Cole's battle plan be something more than "Me feelings hurt, must smash to make dumb lady regret not choosing me!" I was a little thrown off. Getting further into the episode it became clear the plan was Aemon's plan all along (or at least that's my take).
2. Re: Alyn and Addam of Hull, fun to see that coming along. It would be a cool twist to have them BOTH be shaving their heads (because their hair comes in pure Valaryon silver-white, and they're trying to hide that fact while Rhaenys is around).
3. Alys Rivers on the scene!
4. Daemon... Some strengths, a lot of weaknesses, and probably more than Rhaenyra bargained for (when she finally got her teenage crush to herself)
5. Rhaenys... the series definitely made her a favorite for me. I got sad a few episodes ago realizing that and what was coming. The size difference between Maelys and Vhagar was larger than I realized from slogging through Fire and Blood. My understanding was that Maelys and Caraxes were both old/large enough to give Aemond pause about the idea of taking them on at the same time, even with Sunfyre at his side, but yeah, no...
6. Aemond, Aemond, Aemond. What WAS he thinking when he didn't join his brother to take down Maelys and Rhaenys? Was he thinking back to Vhagar's unpredictable nature/inability to be controlled when around another dragon (like when Vhagar ate his nephew?) Was he hoping for his dopey, incompetent older brother to get taken out? What was he planning to do when Cole gets to him and the king?
The writer on this series is doing such a nice job filling in the large gaps in this story. Quite the nice change...
