Today is the Players Championship, which I think ought to be the 5th Major. Largest pot in the PGA. The daunting 17th, which seems to bring excitement every year. At least we will get to see Sergio blow up yet again.

Tiger is probably upset but he's filthy rich anyway. Rory is the one that got totally screwed. He was offered $500 million to go to LIV and turned it down to take the high road. Then this happens. [Reply]
Will Zalatoris was offered $130 million to go to LIV but also took the high road. Now he has back issues and who knows what happens going forward? He got the double whammy. [Reply]

There is no high road in professional golf. You make as much money as you can while you can (or at least you should, I'm puzzled as to why some of these guys didn't). Rory ultimately should have known better. [Reply]

Yeah he's Tiger Woods. Why does he need to bend the knee to anyone? Even now he is the one human being who could blow something like this up. He comes out and blasts all this and starts a campaign against it, it would seriously hurt the business side of this deal. I don't think he'd do something like that because it would hurt his fellow golfers but he's Tiger Woods. Even Mahomes and LeBron don't have the power he does. He's one of the few human beings on earth who doesn't need to sell out for anyone. [Reply]
