"She put her body on top of Lilly’s to try and protect her after the attack started," Bennard's uncle by marriage, Jeff Gibson told USA TODAY on Saturday. "Both (dogs) started attacking her while she lay on Lilly."The two children were pronounced dead when officials arrived at the home, the sheriff's office reported.

It was not immediately known what provoked the mauling. The mauling, Gibson said, lasted about 10 minutes. The dogs – two pit bulls that belonged to the family – were euthanized at Memphis Animal Services Thursday.

The family owned the pets, Cheech and Mia, for more than eight years without a violent incident, Kelsey Canfield, the mother's best friend, told Fox News.

"I can promise you those children were her world, and if there was any inkling of danger, she would have never had those dogs near her kids," Canfield told the outlet. "Those children were everything to them, and they just have a really long journey ahead."

How do you feel about PittBull's? I posted this because my wife shared this story with me and my son was just recently participating in a "read to sheltered dogs" event where you could adopt a dog (I know brilliant).

I've heard the arguments that PittBull's get a bad wrap, but it seems time and time again they are the focal point of dogs who do these horrible acts.

If you change up your style of dress along with that cane... you could be running the block by the end of the week.

Bear spray would be a far superior option, save the pistol as a last resort

No, you're not. You're actually terrible at accepting advice. People gave you good advice in your other thread. Yet here you are with your plastic pimp cane thinking you're going to bop a pitty with it like fucking Gambit.

I just hope somebody records it...

It's not plastic. It's a weapon that inflicts major blunt force trauma.

I've been charged by five pitbulls and neither myself nor my dog have been bitten. I think I know how to handle myself, especially now that I'll have weapons.

How many have YOU been charged by?

From the site: "weve made ours out of high-impact Polypropylene"

Polypropylene
Chemical compound
Polypropylene, also known as polypropene, is a thermoplastic polymer used in a wide variety of applications. It is produced via chain-growth polymerization from the monomer propylene. Polypropylene belongs to the group of polyolefins and is partially crystalline and non-polar.

I don't think that the aggressive tenacity of a pitbull has been fully impressed upon you. I'm telling you... short of lubing up one end and using it to shove it up the dog's bum in a bid to distract it, I honestly and truthfully do not believe that stick is going to do a damn thing.

The bear spray will work. It wouldn't take much of something designed for a 500 pound bear, and it would be hard to miss. You are going to send that dog sprawling and inflict a sort of pain that it can't even imagine, but nobody will be permanently damaged.

I especially like how the bottom boards holding up the one upright board at :23 start moving before impact.

Good luck with it my dude. I'd rather carry the bear spray between the two.

the head on that staff is hard as fuck. use the dog's own velocity against him.

if that doesn't stop him, drop the staff and blast away at the beast until he's dead.
You’re gonna cause exactly 0 blunt force trauma by thrusting a walking cane into a pit bull’s head. Have you ever felt how hard those fucking thing’s skulls are? Lol.

You’re a dipshit.

Return it immediately and get a European walking stick.

I don’t want you blaming my ancestors when you inevitably get mauled by this vicious beast.
