Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! [Reply]

Absolutely. He's earned it. He should be #2 anyway... [Reply]
These things that come from these guys are a waste of time to read and go through. I'm a Mahomosexual through and through, but this guy is nothing but a blogger dude that "reviews" film in his spare time. He's not educated on any of this although he may have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night. He doesn't know plays, route concepts, etc. He's guessing. The worst thing to come from sports twitter is it gave people like this (a lot of them everywhere) a voice. Which is cool, I love that you love the game, but so many dumb people out there think these "reviews" are coming from a John Schneider or Ozzie Newsome scouting department member. [Reply]

He is, without question, the most talented QB on this roster.
All true, but the promotion is big to me because he is now just one play from being the starter. The coaches can't put him in that position if they don't feel really good about where he is at.
It tells me that they aren't afraid of 'ruining him' this year. [Reply]

I would just like to see him get to play with a better OL in one of these pre-season games. Didn't think it was possible for him to have an OL as bad as Tech's at the NFL level, but the third string OL was pretty damn bad on Friday. [Reply]

The 9ers kept a number of 2s on the field against the Chiefs 3rd team, including Aaron Lynch and that Solomon kid from Stanford, both of whom played through most of the second and third qtrs. [Reply]

Well, hopefully the 2nd team can do a better job against the Bengals backups. It should be an emphasis this week, at least. [Reply]

They had Reuben Foster out there too. Those 3 will start, if I'm betting. The rookies already do. [Reply]

Andy is in his ear every practice trying to break him down and Nagy says Patrick is "unbreakable" [Reply]

For the first time at camp, Patrick Mahomes just took reps right after Alex Smith. Tyler Bray followed.
This move is not unprecedented as Mahomes outperformed Bray in the first preseason outing. It remains to be seen whether or not coach Andy Reid will commit to Patrick Mahomes as the backup quarterback or if this is simply Mahomes getting action with different players.
Demetrius Harris extends his arms and makes a sweet catch on an out. Good pass by Mahomes.
The good news is we likely won’t see Mahomes plays getting called back with as many penalties and offensive line mistakes. Mahomes playing better than Bray and usurping second team reps could also help the Chiefs better evaluate players who might be on the roster bubble (like Harris and Thomas).
Chris Conley looks soo good. Another over the shoulder catch, this time from Mahomes.
This move can also serve to help some stand out performers look even better. For instance the above Chris Conley catch builds on the great game that Conley put together in the opener.
Mahomes apparently brought WR Marcus Kemp with him to the 2nd team. Finds his favorite target for a short gain.
In addition to Mahomes, receiver Marcus Kemp also saw some action with the 2nd team offense. Kemp was the target of Mahomes lone touchdown on Friday. Rookie running back Kareem Hunt also saw runs with the second string team in 9-on-7 drills and could be looking for a depth chart jump as well. Though initially his value seems to lie as a special teams player.
Hunt only logged one carry and one target in Friday’s loss to the 49ers.
