Hall of Fame coach Dick Vermeil on if #Broncos first-year coach Sean Payton can turn around QB Russell Wilson: "If he can't do it, it can't be done." More Vermeil on Payton. "I have tremendous respect for him. To me, he and Andy Reid are the offensive coaches of the decade."
Andy is known to be a qb whisperer. Until Mahomes he was able to take average qb's, make serviceable and win a lot of games. When he left Philly there was a long line of teams wanting him.
Payton had 1 sb appearance with a hof qb, He's a known cheater, and when he left NO, went to tv because no one wanted him. The only reason he's in dungver is the absurd amount of money thrown at him.

One of these things is not like the other
Sean Payton turned a discarded 2nd-round midget QB with a bum shoulder into a first ballot HOF’er. Fixing Russ will be EZPZ. [Reply]

Difference is, Tater is way past his prime. He has no escapability and his long ball is trash. He can't do the things that made him decent. He's been in decline for the better part of 3 years and I don't care who the coach is, that ain't getting better [Reply]

Russ still has above average mobility and elite arm strength. His issues last year were all mental. He wasn’t seeing things clearly or playing with rhythm. [Reply]

You’re acting like Drew Brees sucked. Yes Sean Payton helped him but he wasn’t some loser QB.
He had 51 TD’s/22 INT’s, 6,600 passing yards, 64.5 completion % his last 2 years in San Diego.
His last year in San Diego he was 9th in passing yards, tied for 4th in passing TD’s and 10th in QB rating among starting QB’s.
He was a top 10 QB before he went to New Orleans. The reason he was discarded was bc of that shoulder injury. [Reply]

Please provide a link to a post where you have been "right".....
As far as I can tell.....You are perfect when it comes to being wrong.
Remember when everyone on CP was absolutely convinced that the Chargers were going to hire Sean Payton? Remember when I said it would never happen because Dean Spanos is too cheap to pay Payton what he wants and that Big Dick Penner was going to get him instead? [Reply]

No he doesn't and no he doesn't. His issues last year, AND most of the year before, was because he doesn't. [Reply]

That midget QB was taller than your midget QB and was not past his prime, like your midget QB is. [Reply]

That's bs and you know it. We all saw what happens when you "let Tater cook".
Meanwhile in Seattle, a career backup took the same players in the same system to the playoffs.
You may as well face it, the 28th ranked roster led by Tater and coached by a party boy is looking straight down the barrel of another last place finish [Reply]

So you're betting your posting privileges that this happens and the Donkeys win the AFC West this year? :-):-) [Reply]
Nobody is saying that Payton didn’t make Brees better. But you’re acting like Brees was some middling QB before Payton. He wasn’t. He was a top 10 QB.
And Payton wasted the last 10 years of him. Made it back to the Championship game one time in a decade after the SB. And Payton never had to deal with Peyton Manning or Tom Brady being in the NFC.
He underachieved after his original success. Even Andy Reid took a lesser QB who will never be in the HOF to a handful of championship games and a SB [Reply]
