I did buy some IPDN a bit ago. Chart looks pretty primed for a pop - could near $2 shortly (currently sitting at 1.34). Might be a nice little quick hitter over the weekend.
I am currently trying to decide on whether or not I'm buying any options on the broader market to hold over the weekend. Tough to say, but the market has typically jumped well on the Monday following a long weekend this year. Might be a good time for some AMD / SPY calls.
EDIT: Ended up not doing anything on the options front. [Reply]
But without real revenue the risk goes through the roof. I mean Nikola was just a month ago.
Yeah. That was the original direction of the thread to determine help guys with IRAs and traditional investment accounts and the like. Then it turned into r/Wallstreetbets with fewer memes. :-)
Oh definitely. I’m talking about real companies in the growth phase but have actual revenue. Like Tesla. NKLA has nothing but shit on paper. You have to spot the difference. [Reply]

Yeah. This summer I listened to two different books about Theranos. It is absolutely remarkable how far they pushed the string with nothing. They had absolutely nothing at all and bullshitted a massive number of people. Even to the point of rolling out kiosks in stores. Plus a bunch of otherwise credible fools that they were balls deep in.
I once was a big believer in P/E, but I've decided that it doesn't really do much. It kind of identifies when a stock is out of favor, and if it's out of favor that doesn't portend growth.
I tend to screen for four things these days: earnings per share growth, revenue growth, dividend, and recently I've been looking for sustained (multi-year) price momentum. Give me three of the four and I'm good to go, and I'll consider a stock with two out of the four. [Reply]
I still find NKLA fascinating. The deal with GM fell through and their Pickup truck in now not happening. They will focus more on their original plan for over the road trucks.
It is currently below 21.00 and I think its a good buy. It is however a LONG term investment at this point, right?
Looking for some of you smart guys to chime in. [Reply]

You're better off going to the casino as it's pure gamble with NKLA right now. They have absolutely nothing to show for themselves but ideas and paper.
Long term it's a company that could accomplish nothing and be worth nothing. I don't see it as a long term investment but should only be used for trading if you're so inclined, but even that has high risk with it and you should assess your tolerance for doing so. [Reply]

I also like RIDE. They actually have a product and its pretty cool. Its Lordstown Motors. Took over a factory in Michigan and have a EV truck launching that is ready to compete with any truck out there. Have outstanding orders for it as well. [Reply]

Can’t tell if you’re being serious.
He literally gives no reasons for his choices and is using catch phrases. [Reply]

NKLA has nothing. A few patents, no working prototypes, just some designs. Oh and venture capital. There is some of that. Don’t forget the IP lawsuit. Some of that too. Last I knew their grand plan was to put someone else’s batteries and drivetrain in a vehicle they designed. They failed to do that, rolled it down a hill and shot a video.
So it’d essentially be like a college senior with AutoCad. And is trying to break into a massively established market.

I've got pretty big positions in most of those. They used to be really big positions, but now they're just pretty big positions. If I can get a good runup, though, I can get to breakeven. And from there, the sky's the limit. [Reply]
