2015 - Inactive his entire rookie season.
2016 - Missed 3 games
2017 - Missed 11 games
2018 - Missed 7 games
2019-2021 - healthy with one pro bowl
2022 - Missed 9 games
2023 - Missed final 2 games with most recent knee injury
2024 - Missed 11 games so far
Why are we so excited about this guy? He's missed games for knee injuries and in 2022 he missed over half the season because of a back injury. Also found this on Wikipedia and I know Bruce Arians is a jack ass, but damn.
"Throughout his rookie training camp and in the preseason, Humphries displayed revolting play in practice and preseason. Head coach Bruce Arians nicknamed him "knee-deep", explaining that you need to keep "A knee in his ass every day" to keep him motivated"
I'm finding any excitement to be dissipating.
Well yeah, he wouldn't have been available if he didn't have the injury history. All he has to do this year is play maybe 9-10 games. That's doable and he's better than any other LT on the roster. [Reply]

I'm hoping that since it's a contract year that he plays his ass off, but idk if I'd wanna take a chance with him long term. [Reply]

I hope he plays next week, I'm just not so sure it's gonna happen
Maybe he'll be on the game day roster next week and log a few game reps to get him going. [Reply]

I don't see 2024 as relevant as far as games missed since he was injured late last season. You're right about Arians though because he's an A-1 asshole. He was able to win with teams he didn't build I guess but that's it. [Reply]

This is exactly what Inposted about earlier. While he is a better option than what we have atm I’d still not crown him lord savor just yet. [Reply]
Looking more closely at that history, it seems likely the Chiefs probably see this as a short term arrangement. If they can squeeze 8 above average games out of him, including a nice playoff run, someone is probably going to overpay him.
Then again, this guy was also a captain at one point, so whatever Arians said about him in his rookie year clearly wasn’t an issue down the road. He’s been an above average LT when healthy, and that is so hard to find, especially for teams like us at the bottom of every draft. If he plays well, it’s going to be very hard to let him go. He sure seems like a badass in his presser as well, so we’ll see what happens. Either way, we’re getting his absolute best for the rest of the season, and that’s a huge boost for us. [Reply]

Yeah no. That ain't happening. I can just about promise you that. If the dude balls out for 8+ games at a pro bowl level at 30 I can tell you that there's no way in hell Veach lets him walk. [Reply]

If he plays well, he’s going to hit the market. Most likely, he’d easily land ~20 million a year or so. You think Veach will be willing to commit that after having him in house for half of a season? Would you cut Thuney to keep him? Because that’s likely what you’d have to do.
To be clear, I’d be onboard with keeping him. I’m just listing all possible scenarios. [Reply]

Hope he’s ready for the Stoolers game. Don’t need that kinda blocking going against the STEEL MEN! [Reply]

North of 30 with a big injury history. No way, he’s a rental to make it through til (hopefully) the SB. [Reply]
