Wanya Morris was drafted with pick 92 of round 3 in the 2023 draft class. He scored a 8.35 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 215 out of 1294 OT from 1987 to 2023. https://t.co/KnzoH8NdfSpic.twitter.com/KZgxtMNcfb

Well, knowing this and seeing what we have on the roster, are the Chiefs going to have to make a Mahomes-ian type trade up in the first round to get a legit left tackle of the future? I suppose that idea is contingent on what DJ Humphries brings to the table when he gets his shot at it, but that move has to be considered at this point, right? [Reply]

If you have a solid LT….you keep him. Probably overpay. Because there just aren’t that many people that can do that out there
Yeah I was wrong about that. I don't know if I would have done that 5 year 145m deal that we made a thread about but yeah in hindsight, extending him was the right move. [Reply]

Given DJs age and injury history, I'd still make that trade if that's what it takes to get a good LT. Fuck it. We have to protect Mahomes by any means necessary and it's not like our first round picks the last few years have been superstars anyway. So yeah if the only way to have a good LT that Mahomes can trust is to give up 2 years of first round picks and a couple other picks, then do it. [Reply]

No disagreement here. The problem at the position is THAT bad right now and can't be allowed to continue without being addressed.
Hell, that future left tackle could get the Mahomes treatment himself if Humphries earns a one year extension with us and we let him ride the bench and learn from DJ. [Reply]

According to Schefter the final offer was 6/$139 mil, but the first 5 years were $95 mil. He signed for 4/$64 with the Bengals. That's essentially a 3/$41 mil, because his final year is $22 mil and they can cut him and save $14 mil. [Reply]

There is some major revisionist history with the opinions people have of our last few OTs. [Reply]

I don’t want him here but I miss the somewhat steady play compared to yesterday. That’s how bad it’s gotten I guess. Guy looks like Willie Roaf compared to what we’ve seen recently.
Wanya Morris and Kingsley Suamatia will do that to you I guess. [Reply]

Yep. It's like giving someone the option of having either bloody diarrhea or hot, explosive diarrhea. Neither option is a good choice. And when you're suffering on the toilet, you're not really sure which of the options is splashing into the bowl.
That's what Mahomes has dealt with with these shitty tackles they keep giving him. [Reply]

Not really? He had games like Morris and Suamataia where he's performed poorly enough to turn a win into a loss. [Reply]

Every game has been like this with Wanya and Kingsley.
Everyone gets on Andy and Nagy and Mahomes about his ADOT and short passes. They know the LT position is the worst in the league. They know half the playbook is axed bc the QB has no time to throw and the WR’s have no time for the to develop.
The offense has been neutered mostly from LT but also some from the RG and RT. They can’t run the plays they want to.
