If Russ really has lost his deep ball accuracy, I'd give the edge to Stidham. Stidham, iirc, has some wheels, while Russ doesn't anymore, and he can actually hit intermediate throws between the numbers, while Russ struggles with that.
And Payton's offense is designed around the ability to make those between-the-numbers intermediate-distance timing throws. [Reply]
25 Worst moves made by NFL teams in 2022- Yard Barker
#1 Broncos trade for Russell Wilson
It's already being called one of the worst trades in NFL history. Desperate to solve the quarterback issues they've had since the retirement of Peyton Manning, the Broncos shipped two first-round picks, two second-round picks, a fifth-round pick, Drew Lock, Noah Fant, and Shelby Harris to Seattle for Wilson. After signing Wilson to a five-year contract with $161 million guaranteed, he proceeded to flounder with career worsts in completion percentage, touchdowns, and QBR en route to a fourth-place finish in the AFC West. Fans can only hope a new coaching staff will turn things around. [Reply]

Wilson is neither 6-3 nor is he named Jarrett, so he's probably not in the long term plans.
How do you foresee the Broncos handling the issue? Given the contract extension they gave Wilson, it's not like you can just cut him anytime soon and with him still on the roster he's absorbing a significant percentage of the salary cap. However, if he stays as the #1 QB and performs anything close to how he did last year, he'll retard the development of the team and become incredibly divisive, even more so than he was last year.
