This is where the Walton-Penner group matters. The #Broncos have guaranteed in excess of $95 million on contracts to McGlinchey ($50M), Powers ($28M), Singleton ($9M), Stidham ($5M) and Manhertz ($3.3M). Having cash flow helps as Broncos enjoy big first day of FA. #Denver7
That's a lot of money for a bunch of guys that couldn't crack the starting lineup for the Chiefs. I guess that your right tackle could win the RT spot since Wiley is gone. But I would have preferred to keep Wiley for what he got than overpay for a guy that isn't an upgrade over him. [Reply]
The Broncos had a chance to regain some lost ground this offseason, but a weak free-agent class at the top hampered the top-tier talent that they could add to their roster. Still, they doled out a lot of money to linemen Mike McGlinchey and Ben Powers to try and bolster their offensive line. Final contract numbers have yet to be released, but they appear to have shelled out a lot of money for players who are, at best, slightly above average at their positions. This might help the Broncos’ offensive line become a more complete unit, but the line still is not a great unit.
Per @PFF data, Zach Allen ranked 5th last year among 68 interior D-linemen with at least 250 pass-rush snaps in hit + sack rate, getting to the QB once every 20.6 snaps last year. In that same metric, Dre’Mont Jones was 33rd.https://t.co/IHBh93f6Ao

Your DL is better, for a lot of money. It is also significantly worse than the Eagles DL, and a number of other teams that our OL abused. You are spending astronomical amounts of money for continued mediocrity. [Reply]

This was my thought as I watched the Broncos spend mass amounts of money yesterday. IMO they went from dead last to maybe fighting for 3rd place in our division. [Reply]
We all know this much. Spending a bunch of money on FA's in the off season does usually equate to any SB titles. Every team chasing us that last year and what happened? We won the SB and they sat and watched. [Reply]
"This is almost the same amount of money Dre’Mont Jones got…who is much more needed. What are we doing? 5.5 sacks for 3 years is garbage. And can we QUIT dumping big money into injury prone players???"
"Yikes. The Broncos out here lighting money on fire."
"I need someone to explain why Broncos give a FA DE a similar deal to the solid DT already on the squad that had more sacks and a way better run stopper. … which is allowed to walk out the door?" [Reply]
