Ravens tried this stupid shit in the Home Opener a few years ago. Went for it every 4th down including on their own side of the field.
It got them a few extra possessions on 1 drive but netted them 0 points.

Well since I've been here since before the playoff game :-) [Reply]

It's always injuries or the refs. Sack up and take your lumps just like everyone else. Also psa you aren't going 20-0 :-)
You realize the Chiefs have basically been unbeatable with a healthy Mahomes right? You do realize that don't you? [Reply]

In the past three seasons Mahomes is something like 44-10.
During the same timeframe Baker is 25-24.
This is where the Browns fans will now complain about Baker’s “lost year” and ignore the fact that half his games last year netted less than 200 yards passing. [Reply]

So, in other words, you agree that he hasn’t shown to be elite.
The original issue was “baker has a losing record,”. Which is obviously false. How big a difference it makes wasn’t my concern.
Personally I don’t think Baker will turn out to be elite. But a solid top-10 QB by the end of the season? I think it’s likely, maybe even inevitable. At some point it will be an NFL fact that Mayfield is a better QB than either Lamar or Josh Allen. Better than Dak, kyler, Ryan tannehill, Watson, even Herbert, at least this season.
My prediction is that he settles in as the 6th or 7th best QB for the next 4-5 years. [Reply]

None of which makes any difference to us, as you need an elite qb to even think about threatening Mahomes/Reid.
Not sure if you’re serious about him being better than Allen in the future either - nothing he has shown in his body of work suggests he will.
