Felix Anudike-Uzomah was drafted with pick 31 of round 1 in the 2023 draft class. He scored a 8.73 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 209 out of 1634 DE from 1987 to 2023. https://t.co/maz03OdBwqpic.twitter.com/xoMJ9ki2Pv
This defense is going to be fucking scary by mid season.
This is why I figured Jones and his camp would want some 'top 10 in X categories' incentives in there.
Because this Defense can do that. Fairly easily, IMO.
It could be truly vile. Especially if Cook develops and Williams can man that CB3 slot effectively all season (young corner volatility still scares me quite a bit there).
But man, with FAU looking like he did and Omenihu as an absolute terror in limited pre-season run on interior rushes - friggen yikes. Hell, that's presuming BJ Thompson provides nothing and I STILL think he can pick up 3-5 sacks as the year progresses and we come up with specialized ways to use him. [Reply]

The Defense is sitting realllll nice.
They sure do seem to be preparing him for Sneed's role (or Mathieu's).
I'm not sure he'll get a ton of run this year, if the rest of the secondary stays largely healthy. But they very clearly have a plan for him and I suspect it means that Sneed is a likely comp pick waiting to happen... [Reply]

Man I'd really like to keep Sneed. Would be nice to have a little vet continuity there and athletically he just looks a level up from Connor. [Reply]

I don't think Veach wants to pay CBs. We'd have McDuffie, Williams and Watson in their 3rd year with Connor and Jones in their 2nd. We'd be ok. [Reply]
I know people were discussing polish and rawness with FAU. To me it's a combination of, seemingly, having a real vet understanding of how to set guys up, and enough experience and athleticism to run the full gamut of pass rush moves. But he also has some technical aspects he can improve upon, and he only 21, with what looks like scope to get bigger and stronger. So it's a perfect mix of nous, ability with some further potential. Seems that way. Man Jones and even Boye-Doe looked intriguing. Jesus I forget about Rush. ONE of those guys outside McDuffie has to turn into something, surely! [Reply]
