The parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector seems apt. It ends with: "For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” [Reply]
8. Speaking of big name QBs coming off down years, more than one person mentioned to me that Russell Wilson is basically on a one-year audition. There's no way Denver can cut him this year, but next year, while the dead cap hit would certainly be bad, it could be spread out over two years and wouldn't be franchise crippling. Said one source “I don't think [Sean] Payton likes Russ. He's got one year to prove himself or Payton will move on.” This source pointed out that Payton has said multiple times in public, on the record, how Russell keeps “bothering Drew Brees.” Payton tries to play it off for a laugh, but my source doesn't think Payton actually think it's funny.

That's a good one for sure. There's many more, though. :-) [Reply]

There is no question Payton thinks Russ a huge dork. He's not a leader of men, he's a self-centered phony. He and Drew Brees couldn't be more different. [Reply]

I'm guessing that the uhoh was for Knowshit. He's convinced that Payton and Russ are a match made in heaven and Russ will be a top 5 QB next season. [Reply]

It's not just Russ, though. That dipshit thinks every player on the team is top 5 all time in every category. It's why everybody makes fun of him and nobody takes him serious. [Reply]

If we're talking about a last place franchise that's averaged less than 6 wins/yr for the better part of a decade, gave away all their top draft picks for two years, and shares a division with the best franchise in the NFL (which happens to have plenty of offseason resources)....I'd say it would be somewhat crippling.
