Chiefs WR Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, who suffered a dislocation of his sternoclavicular shoulder joint Saturday night, was discharged from a Jacksonville-area hospital this morning and now has been cleared to return to Kansas City.
#Chiefs WR Marquise “Hollywood” Brown is expected to miss four to six weeks with the sternoclavicular injury he suffered, per multiple sources. Opening night is three weeks from this Thursday night.
Sources: The #Chiefs are placing WR Marquise "Hollywood" Brown on IR, and he will undergo surgery to repair his dislocated SC joint. After multiple imaging studies, it was determined that, although Hollywood felt better, his injury was not healing correctly. Without corrective… pic.twitter.com/xtRRMvmseq
Andy Reid said Hollywood Brown is “ahead of schedule” and attacking his rehab, but he wouldn’t commit to a certainty of seeing him this season. Called him “a relentless worker.”
DeAndre Hopkins has 11 regular season games to get up to get fully comfortable within the #chiefs offense and with Patrick Mahomes. By the time the postseason arrives, I'm told there is a real chance Hollywood Brown could return. Which would make KC's it's most complete at the…
Why are the Browns doing that? Why would we give up that capital?
Spoiler, guys: we had the best offense in the league with this same WR corps in 2022 minus Rice and Worthy but with MVS (and a dash of Toney). But we’re desperate for WRs without Brown? Huh? [Reply]
I've wondered about teams that sign a high profile player in the off-season....only to lose them in the pre-season for the year.
The NFL should consider some form of cap relief...that the team can still pay the player but potentially get a cap credit to replace them. It would be up to the owner if he wants to foot the bill...
This would only apply if they never took a regular season snap...on their first year.
As it stands, KC's big off-season acquisition may never play a down for them...just an 11 million dollar void for nothing. [Reply]
This injury can be very dangerous because of the the blood vessel running behind the joint , would have loved to have seen this offense at full power. Still hoping for late season comeback. [Reply]

I don't really think your idea helps any. Even if the Chiefs had a bit of extra cap right now, you'd only be able to spend it on street free agents and if they are on the street or the practice squad in September, they are not expensive and probably not worth picking up.
Oh and its not 11 million, there were 4 million in incentives that now won't likely be met so the Chiefs will actually get 4m of extra cap back. [Reply]

Yeah, I wouldn't make a move that costs either high picks or big money. There's no need at WR. Just play Worthy, it'll be better for us in the long run.
If I WERE going to make a move, it would be for a pass rusher or a run stuffing DT as Pennel will need frequent breathers. [Reply]

X is now fourth ranked in OROTY odds and I see him now making a strong push for it. [Reply]
