My choice.
I don't find watching games fun this season. (In comparison to every previous Mahomes season). Everything is stressful as fuck, and Pat isn't showing much magic at all. I feel like I'm watching an Alex Smith offense dink and dunk for 3 yards at a time, which is just a snoozefest.
Yes, we are winning... I just hope they can flip the switch in the playoffs. [Reply]

I'm very happy to see a Defense that seems to be improving and gelling as the postseason approaches (DL play ^^).
I'm beyond happy Patrick Mahomes II is my team's QB.
I would really only call one of the Chiefs' wins truly lucky - the game against the Raiders. They literally fumbled a snap to let KC end it.
That Broncos game? That was a great play that resulted in tremendous scouting AND performance when it mattered.
Bengals? I mean, it was clear and obvious pass interference that negated the attempt to catch a ball that would have been a conversion (after a holding call that wasn't THAT obvious that overturned another conversion).
Ravens? KC played good-enough D to make Jackson try that throw, which required an unbelievable effort and STILL would have required a two-point conversion success to be a loss.
If a team is making plays to win a game in OT or drive for a FG that wins it, that's not luck to me.
I look at what the Chiefs are doing and I see a team that is a little (maybe a lot?) bored, that is trying to get to the season when it matters, that is still playing its best WR less than 1/2 the snaps, that is, essentially, keeping its powder dry, and that still has some reinforcements incoming who can help with the biggest flaws with this offense... and I have a hard time mustering TOO much concern.
I agree with this.
I almost think of this Chiefs team like an employee of a company who wants to be the boss. If the goal is the end prize (the promotion), each individual duty can be difficult to dedicate yourself to.
However, those small duties along the way are what make you ready for promotion.
The Chiefs seem so focused on the 3-peat that any one individual game is hard to really get up for. But when faced with problems (threat of a loss), they rise to the occasion far more often than not.
When the playoffs start, I expect this team to be laser focused. [Reply]

Lets just enjoy the ride.
My problem is my rise seems to be coming to end and I have a 89 year old Dad, Told him I am too stubborn to die first but have health issues myself. Good thing I am a SOB. [Reply]

Even in the past, they could be playing some shit team in a meaningless game that they'd either win easily and the game's over at halftime or they FA and maybe FO..... but, Mahomes was guaranteed to do something crazy and you wanted to see it live.
Take a Broncos game a couple years ago, Mahomes did some crazy rugby style pass along the sideline for a short pass that turned into a 30+ yard touchdown. Think I had to stream that game and wasn't particularly excited to watch it, but you can't miss that shit.
I feel like the past couple regular seasons have mostly been wanting to see flashes of a good offense, which is a little less exciting.
The Broncos loss last year was an excruciating waste of time, as was Christmas Day and this year's Black Friday game... it's stress free, but annoying on days when I'd be doing anything else and they end up not showing up at all. [Reply]

Even if your ride comes to and end soon (hope not), as a Chiefs fan you have experienced football eureka that most of the people alive on the planet today will never experience. [Reply]

Half of CP on the other hand, should be forced to watch Sam Howell play football for a month.
I saw the writing on the wall about this when the Royals were winning the World Series. A bunch like Dane, OKChiefs, Mecca, etc were just being miserable fucks even when we were winning. [Reply]
It's kind of a mix between these two:
Pretty happy. We’re 13-1, but we’ve been lucky a few times
Somewhat happy. We’re winning, but I don’t like how we’re winning.
I voted for the first one... I'm pretty happy, stoked really that we're 13-1. We have been lucky a few times. I also hate how we're winning. We look like shit pretty much every game but somehow win. Nothing matters but the Ws though. Just keep stacking them up and hope that an improving health situation on this team makes it easier come playoffs. [Reply]

"As high as it takes" means you're losing a lot of other players that would likely be playing valuable roles on the team. [Reply]
