ST- Kickers continue to do the impossible by hitting things that are hard to hit. Hilarious watching the ball doink the ref in the head. image uploader
Schrader the hero of the game.
Defense - seems to still have a hard time with getting home on the pass rush without the extra blitzer. Didn't see if Uche had any snaps but since Young is a mobile QB they probably limited him again. It seems that every time we got burned on 3rd down the route was that under cross route that Pat made famous with Hill/Hardman in the AFC Divisional round against Buffalo a couple years ago. Just sneaking that WR under a go route. I'll have to go back and watch again, but it seems like we are really struggling on 3rd and long.
Maybe it's a focus thing? Seems like a lot of unnecessary penalties towards the end of the game, McDuffie looked lost on that TD pass and then commits the PI buy running into Moore.
TE - Kelce passes Jason Whitten for all time receiving yards. Noah Grey is really making himself known as a legitimate threat opposite Kelce.
OL - Wanya has gotten beaten bad a couple of times but so has Taylor. On the first TD pass you can see below it is Taylor losing to his man that causes Pat to run up in the pocket. Good news is Pat was only sacked once in the first half but it was Wanya getting beat around the edge.
Wanya got smoked again on the last drive in the 4th Q. I really hope DJ Humphries can get up to speed fast. The last two drives have been atrocious for the offense. Can't seem to get protection down for Pat, especially on exotic pressures. It's like they are so focused on providing help to the tackles that free runners are creating havoc for Pat.
Taylor getting owned by Clowney, the last play on the blitz JJSS missed picking up the blitzer instead chipping the DE.
RB - Steele/Hunt/Perine really stepping up and making big gains on the relief valve passes. Hunt with only 7 carries for 24 yards at half (3.4 yards per). Really gotta get the running game going more.
After watching the 1st half - Pat seems to be better and zipping passes into tight windows. I think he was being hesitant earlier in the year because he wasn't comfortable with the WR's making the catch on a tight window throw possibly leading to a turnover. You can also see Worthy is getting more involved in the passing game.
WR - I wasn't sure Hopkins had any emotions, every time he does an interview he is very reserved in his answers and emotions. This makes me very happy to see.

Honestly, of all the garbage calls we endured today... thats actually the one I won't bitch about, it looked like launching and leading with the helmet IMO [Reply]
The Chiefs four minute offense… when they have the ball at the end of games with a lead… needs work.
The Chiefs offense during the rest of the game (before red zone), is nearly flawless, then they get into situational football of four minute offense or red zone and malfunction. [Reply]

Not much happier with the second down calls today, either
When Hunt puts you ahead of the sticks with 5 yards on a 1st down run, don't run him AGAIN... use that success to pick up an easy pass play [Reply]

The only thing I'm sure of about our tackles right now, is that Veach is going to attack it like it slapped his Grandma this offseason [Reply]

What can Veach do about Taylor?
I traded his 75 overall ass in Madden and got stuck with a humongous cap penalty the following season. [Reply]
Is it time to start talking about Chris Jones? Flame away if you want, I am just curious because he isn't making the same impact as last year. Also, 3rd and long has been an issue all year long. Doesn't matter who the Chiefs are playing, they simply can't get pressure with the four DL and their blitz packages appear to have become predictable. Same issue with the OL, pass blocking is terrible and Patrick has been speeded up. [Reply]
Smith and Taylor look kind of rough. I wonder why they've regressed. There's really no reason to think they can't return to their fantastic form during last season's playoff run. [Reply]
As I predicted before the game we would win (easy prediction) but we wouldn’t run away from them. Unfortunately, we don’t seem able to make anything easy.
Hope the new LT can play against Max and the Raiders. Morris wasn’t great, but he was adequate. Not sure he will be against Max.
It’s amazing what Veach has been able to pick up off the scrap heap. Our replacement kicker. Hunt who has been amazing while we wait for Pacheco to come back. Hopkins, who is going to be really important for our 3 peat. Hopefully our new LT will be another example.
We kind of need to win the rest of our games although maybe we can lose one. I was hopeful San Francisco would give Buffalo a challenge, but now that doesn’t look like the case. So the only game they are Possibly going to lose is Detroit. And that will be a really good game that Buffalo may end up winning. So our margin for keeping HFA is slim.
It was nice to see young play so well. Part of that was us and we are definitely having problems with our pass rush but also with our coverage. But he played a good game and maybe will end up fulfilling his potential.
Yes, it wasn’t the “feel good“ game many predicted and hoped it would be. But it was another win. And I think Mahomes overcame a lot of his recent problems, especially happy feet, at least in the first half.
I keep pinning my hopes on worthy. Once he gets fully integrated into the offence and develops the kind of chemistry Mahomes seems to have developed immediately with Hopkins, I think he’s going to be great. He is always open. He has good hands. And I think he runs pretty good roots. [Reply]

Yet Reid in the post game presser praised Nagy for his third down play calling. I was horrified by the play calls in the second half, we have all this team speed but are not using it. It's like the plays are designed to give time for the TE's to get open when in reality Mahomes doesn't have time and needs to hit quick slant routes and get rid of it. [Reply]
Today was my first NFL game. Even though I was not happy with how we played today the roar of the Panthers fans when they tied it up was just incredible
I have to come to Arrowhead now. That’s now a must do thing. I can’t imagine how loud that must be in person [Reply]
