Honestly, I feel like all the problems the Chiefs have are solvable with players scheduled to return from injury, and the offense tightening up some issues here and there. I'm not sweating Morris at LT as much as others -- though I do agree the Chiefs need to fix that issue next year.
With one exception.
Losing Jaylen Watson seems to have truly kneecapped the secondary. Sadly, Joshua Williams is out of the rotation altogether, and Nazeeh isn't making smart coverage choices.
My preference against a team like the Bills might be heresy, but I'd like to see us put McDuffie back in the slot whenever we're going up against a good slot team, and take our chances with Nazeeh and Williams on the outside.
I don't know how well that will work, but guys were running wide open all over the Chiefs secondary against Buffalo. It makes no sense to continue doing the same thing. [Reply]
There will always be some posters who will complain no matter what. My favorite CP moment was in Andy's first year in 2013, a year after the WORST season in Chiefs history, and Andy somehow gets the team to start 9-0 which is just freakin incredible. In week 11, the Chiefs then lose their FIRST game to a very good Denver team, and someone posts, "I can now see why the Eagles fired Andy." and then goes on to list all of Andy's flaws. :-)
I had on my chiefs quarter zip yesterday at the PT office. The receptionist asked how I was doing. I said great. Then pointed to my shirt, and said something like tough loss. She then told me she was a bills fan. I laughed, said have fun watching my team play in the Super Bowl.
This team is going to get better as the play offs approach. In all honesty the Chiefs approach the regular season like it’s preseason. They work on things try to get guys involved etc. I get it, it would be fun stomping on the gas like the Lions and boat racing your opponents every week, but this franchise is focused on winning championships. Like actual championships not fantasy leagues etc.
I believe when it matters Worthy will be a star.
I believe when it matters Kelce will wreck opposing defenses.
I believe when it matters Patrick will be more aggressive. (Seriously there were times in the game where Hunt was wide open as a dump off right out of the gate and would have easily got the first down).
AFC playoff are going to be a blast watching the Steelers, Bills, Ravens, Texans, Chargers, and Broncos beat the everyone g shit out of one another on wild card weekend. [Reply]
They've gotta just push for the 1 seed now. Just lock that up and let them all sort that part out on WC weekend.
That was always a big key for the Pats. Have the 1 seed, get the bye, then get the 4th seed coming into Foxboro. I'd guess this year you probably get a WC team coming in. [Reply]

Love what Kent Swanson and Matt Lane said about the offense last night. They were spot on:
-The offense has had issues since preseason. They spent the entire summer preparing for Hollywood and Rashee and guess what? They’re out. WR1 and WR2
-There’s been a constant shuffling of weapons. Pacheco gone, Rashee and Hollywood gone. Juju only played 1 game then was out. Hopkins and Worrhy are works in progress and will take time. Worthy performance in Buffalo shows progress.
-No juice at RB. Hunt has been good but there’s no explosiveness. It’s gotten worse the last 2 weeks.
-Kelce isn’t what he was. That fastball isn’t there very often anymore. Kind of like an aging pitcher. He can be a closer at this point but he’s not a regular starter anymore. Rice was that guy to take his spot and the Falcons game was a clear indicator of what that would look like.
-offense feels disconnected and doesn’t have an identify at the moment
They will get this fixed and Mahomes will be on a good enough page with Hopkins/Worthy by January. Pacheco will bring back juice and I trust Mahomes and OL to play well when it matters
I agree. Injuries and continuity have been issues.
I think we'll see the offense really shine once they can use Pacheco as the the primary back, and use Hunt for 3rd downs and red zone touches (probably inside the 10). Pacheco gives them more juice/explosiveness/speed, and Hunt can be kept fresh and used as a weapon more strategically.
Continuing to integrate Hopkins and Worthy as the season goes on is key, too. Just takes time. [Reply]

The front 4 isn't getting the job done.
The last two weeks in particular the pass rush has been complete dogshit. Like, Spags is sending two extra blitzers and they’re both getting stonewalled instantly. It’s almost like the offense has magnets. Our players just stick to them and never shed the blocks.
In order to get back to and win this next Super Bowl, I think our most major flaws that need to be fixed are:
1) Better OL play across the board
2) Mahomes needs to earn his paycheck
3) Pass rush needs to unfuck itself
4) CB2 needs to tighten up
5) We need to figure out this issue with covering TEs and the slot

I think that's focusing on the wrong thing.
If I'm in the building, I'm preaching 2 things.
1. Continuous Improvement. We don't need a paradigm shift. Can't worry about who's going to be there. Can't count on Hollywood parachuting in and solving all our problems. Execute. That's what it comes down to.
2. Know what we are. Mahomes is the best there has ever been, but there is a lack of explosiveness. Mahomes needs to understand this when he's making reads. Sometimes he needs to hit what's there. Even if it's boring. And the defense needs to understand this. They can't chase sacks or give up lane or gap discipline to chase a play. We don't have the firepower to overcome mistakes, so boring football is on the menu.
