Isn’t that kinda the exact article you’d expect to get from a HBCU alum who reports on sports and race?
I’m not saying I entirely disagree with it and it did seem a little weak when he left Jackson State. But I can also appreciate that he was given another, larger turnaround opportunity on a bigger stage and was able to do it with his two of his kids running things on the field (also giving them a much better platform for the NFL).
I don’t know that I’d ever begrudge someone for climbing the ladder in their profession like that. [Reply]

I don't have a problem with him climbing the ladder but from every where's coached from high school, to HBCU, to Colorado he pitches all these grandiose ideas he's going to do for the school they never materialize and he leaves in a few years [Reply]
You know what else is interesting to me is how many Graduate Students he has on his roster - guys that played football elsewhere undergrad and came here for one year of eligibility as a graduate student.

I respectfully disagree- I understand his motives and I respect his decisions. If he bounces after 2 years for bigger and better then I'll eat crow. But I believe he is around for as long as his medical condition will allow. [Reply]

I guess it's a matter of perspective.
What was Jackson State before Deion showed up? A .500 team? Worse? Did he bring them a championship?
Not saying that he's a great Xs-and-Os coach. Not sure we have enough information to say one way or the other. Frankly, as I understand it, the most important part about being a college coach is being able to recruit. In that one regard, Deion seems to be as good as any top-ranked college coach right now.
