Those are cap hits, not cash. Mahomes’ cash flow is $53M per year from 2023 to 2027 and never goes above $60M in any single year. The cap hits are pretty high because of earlier years where the Chiefs moved some of the cap money into the future.

I get that everyone wants to get paid what the market will give them. But I also just don't understand why a guy this heavily scrutinized wouldn't take a pay cut if it makes his team better. Is going from stupid rich to ridiculously rich that worth it if you're constantly harassed for not getting the job done?

Prescott has a chip on his shoulder because Dallas used the franchise tag on him instead of giving him a new contract after his 3rd year in the league. So he’s gonna squeeze them for every dollar. It’s a funny situation. And now every other QB will want more money than Prescott.
