WR corps - I'l be honest I'm not sure if we need another WR or not - feels like it would be a nice security blanket to have another WR besides Ross/Remigio/Washington. DeAndre Hopkins really does catch everything thrown to him, the rainbow pass for 35 yards to Hopkins was disgusting and he literally caught everything Pat threw to him (8/9 86 yards 2 TD's). Worthy needs to work on his sideline awareness a couple of passes he should have had were negated by his feet being too close to the boundary. Watson really made his presence felt as well with 3 receptions on 4 targets for 43 yards.
TE's - It always seems like Kelce fumbles as he just tries a little too hard for extra yardage but his production was good tonight with 14/16 for 100 yards. I think he may be pressing a bit thinking he needs to help shoulder a bigger load. Grey was quiet tonight with only one target and no receptions. Payton Hendershot makes an appearance on the last drive with a 9 yard catch.
OL - I didn't get an opportunity to really watch what was happening on the OL but Vea is a force in the middle really collapsing the pocket and forcing Mahomes into a couple of sacks. I'll have to re-watch to get a really good idea of what specifically was happening.
ST's - pretty good for the most part but not kicking the ball out of the Endzone seemed pretty questionable at the start of the second half. Should always just kick it out of the back of the end zone. I feel like I know why they got lucky on the bounce on the previous KO that skipped in the EZ for the touchback and start at the 20. Trying to replicate that burnt us and let the Bucs start the 2nd half at the 50.
Defense - played really well despite giving up 3 TD's. I didn't feel like the problem was with the CB's this game but the Bucs had their top three receivers out of the game so that may have masked some of the deficiencies. The last drive was really sloppy defense giving up really big chunk plays...... Still personally on the Lattimore train if he is available....but if we decide to stand pat I think we will be okay.
Not sure why we got away from the running game in the first half, but Andy really switched it up in the second half and started ramming Hunt down their throats which really worked well (27 rushes for 106 yards and 1 TD). I didn't get a chance to look at the halftime rushing stats but it wasn't pretty.
OT - A steady dose of Hunt with a sprinkling of Kelce and Hopkins = WIN
Lattimore's contract is bloated. No way we get him.
It's just funny how this team can play sloppy for long stretches but when the game is on the line they're sharp as a laser and execute like a razor blade. It's like they just get out of bed for late game drives. I would say I've never seen it but I watched the Patriots do it for years. [Reply]

He should've tried to steal the W with the 2-pt conversion.
Oh he absolutely should’ve gone for 2. But it’s not a guarantee he would’ve gotten it. The national pundits love to assume that the Chiefs would’ve absolutely lost in those types of situations. The way they spin the Ravens game is that the Chiefs lost the game if Likely gets his toe down and that, of course, was not the case. Now we all know Harbaugh would’ve gone for two but also no guarantee he gets it either. Likely being OOB lost the Ravens a shot to win the game same as Bowles decision (even though a successful 2pt tonight doesn’t automatically win the game due to time left). [Reply]

Hopefully we get JuJu back soon, and Worthy can slow down some. By this time next season, he'll be fine.
Yep. But JuJu is turning into Sammy Watkins Part II. [Reply]

No, not a guarantee. But a better chance than putting his gassed defense back on the field in OT. TB’s offense was better than the defense in the second half. Should’ve rode the hot hand in the moment. IMHO anyway. [Reply]

I know, but what can we do? Doesn’t look like we’re going to get another WR this season. Gotta ride the horse we rode in on at this point. Maybe JuJu comes back and manages to play out the season. And plays well enough. Maybe he doesn’t. Gotta have some faith at this point, I guess. [Reply]

I think some guys benefit from learning through doing and some need to be brought along slowly. Rice was ahead of Worthy by some distance at a similar stage and improved as his role increased. We've not seen that growth from Worthy.
The speed is an incredibly useful weapon, but right back to the draft I thought there was a lot of work needed. He is still occasionally bullied, his hands aren't super reliable etc.
He's going to be handy, but needs plenty of work before he's having a substantial impact in terms of yards, imo [Reply]

Another wr would be nice but I think getting juju back is a good enough place holder for the rest of the season until we get Hollywood back. Hollywood would be huge. I’d love to push worthy but the game is coming way too fast for him.
Kareem is getting used a ton. Can’t wait for Pacheco to get back so we can split the backfield. But man, last year we struggled on short yardage and with Kareem I don’t feel even a little bit of anxiety.
I think our D will be fine but if there’s any hole in our defense it’s that we have games time to time where creativity using RBs and TEs and misdirection hurts us. Even when fully healthy TEs have been flat out throttling us this year.
Regarding your last point this is really surprising considering that they face this all the time in practice from the Reid-Mahomes playbook. [Reply]

I don’t see it that way. We had drives killed because of an aging veteran and a rookie who made a few mistakes in the rain and one because our qb misread the new wr he just got last week. That is a good game plan where we just did not execute. We had a defense that I think is still trying to figure themselves out after some injuries.
This was as aggressive an offense gameplan that we’ve seen in a while. I think Andy knows that we’re going to have limitations if mahomes doesn’t open up this offense and this week he did it. Now he just needs worthy to step up and make plays and Hopkins to keep gelling [Reply]
