This whole last series of exchanges is just maddening. Right now, the Chiefs are king with their 2nd title and Mahomes is only 27 years old. That kinda sucks.
Denver has a bit to go in order to catch up to the Ravens, Bengals, Bills, Chargers... PIT, JAX, MIA they're all pushing upwards as well.
The conference is tough, some solid teams there. Denver has to get a strong staff together under Payton and fix a few holes, while they pull Russ' head from his arse.
Chiefs are what... 3-2 lifetime in the SB and Denver is 3-5 lifetime. Debating which franchise is best over eternity is silly and pointless. It's all about now.
Bring on 2024! Oh and again, congratulations on the win. [Reply]

Denver faced Moon once or twice, and I think Kelly once. I don't think they played Marino until one of his final seasons, after he was washed. Kosar was the one who usually stood between them and a SB appearance, along with a bunch of guys that descended into obscurity.
The AFC was far weaker than the NFC in those days. Which is why Denver was blasted by 4 TDs every time they went to the SB.
And yeah, QBs took more hits in those days. They were also taking hits from athletes that were smaller, less powerful and slower. There's a reason that a QB who weighed 200 dominated that era. [Reply]

It is a shame they didn't have more games with Elway and Marino. Players were smaller, but still they could beat the hell out of the offense. [Reply]

No, no no!!! It wont matter if Denver gets good in the current scope of the NFL, because they would have done so after all the other teams you listed.
THAT is what G Bronco's argument has been reduced to. :-) [Reply]
The Chiefs have a weird mix of expensive, injury-prone vets, crap players, and young talent. Berry, Houston, Watkins, and Ford will make $50M next year and they've missed 47 games combined the past two years. KC missed their Super Bowl window and are going to have to rebuild.
This Knowmo gem from 2018 is not aging well. [Reply]

Pretty sure the Steelers had THREE by 1979 or so. [Reply]
