I'm as happy as you are about the Broncos/Elway getting fleeced...it's a good day.
You essentially just retained what you already had...by breaking even it will cost you players in the future. Miller's payout already cost Brock this year...and forced Sanchez on you while having to blow a 1st round pick in the process. Congrats. This gratuitous contract is and will continue to keep doing KC favors....the real price is Brock, Sanders, a 1st round pick and having to watch Sanchez lead you to a 3rd place finish. [Reply]

I thought that we would just get in a room and knock this stuff out in a couple of hours. But, you know they have championship tactics, I don't agree with some of the stuff that they do, but obviously it works."
"I'm hurt at how the Broncos used their leverage against me and didn't give me the money I wanted, but now it's not about money"
Was there even a split second in your addled brain between the times you were arguing "Elway is terrible for not signing Miller" and "Elway is terrible for signing Miller" when you recognized, however dimly, the inconsistency in these two arguments? [Reply]

Did it ever enter your mind how a GM loses his starting QB and the QB he's been grooming for 4 years in the same off-season....and still not have enough money for an $11 million dollar replacement? He seriously thought Kaepernick would take a $4 million hit just for the "honor" of playing for him....such an entitled douche-bag. He's finding out quickly that without Manning...no one cares. He had to pay a record amount just to keep Von from leaving...after an insulting offer of 39 Million.
I should have just said "Elway is a terrible human being"....that way the nuances dont get you confused. I have to remember which fan base I'm talking to...
Von would've gotten MUCH more on the open market. If you asked anyone back in March what Von was worth they'd tell you anywhere from 18 to 22 million per year, Elway got him for $19.08M per year. The guaranteed money doesn't matter because we weren't going to cut him within the first 3 years anyways.
Elway didn't get Von to take a discount but he didn't overpay either. [Reply]
